Call me mad, but why are people in Europe being charged a 40% premium for this book..

$19.90 != £20.

That does seem very strange. Possibly taxes? In USA, if vendor doesn't have physical presence in your state then you don't pay sales tax.

There is no tax in the UK on books, so no it's not that.

I actually don't have this at the moment cos they didn't have any @ PAX, so would be looking to buy, but I'm NOT paying a hefty premium just because of where I live.

www.xe.com says $19.99 should be £12.59, not £20.
