Oldschools Shields =D

Lovely set! Grats on the latest, too!

You may be in for a long wait to get my dragon shield. That's important - I can't fight animals as well as you. Dragons will kick my butt too much without that shield.

kinda high req but I love it!

They should be able to drop, since they drop in DoA, and DoA is actually a good source of 7/15 and 8/16 shields.. I've seen my share of em drop, and sold a bunch too^^ getting a r8/16 inscr gloom shield would mean xxxe though, because it is indeed a very sexy skin :P

The possibility for drops in an area to be req8 doesn't mean all skins in that area can come in req8.

As I said: I only know of 2 req8 glooms in the game, although there might be little more, but I am quite sure they can't drop anymore nowadays. Proof me wrong if you can

req8 glooms are extremely rare. havent seen one for sale in years

I used to own a req8 inscr. gloom that I gave away as a gift to my friend Eir Of Asgard. If you want to see it, contact him ingame. That's the number 2 req8 gloom I know. And I believe quite strongly that req8 glooms could only drop in August 2007. Proof me different than that if you like by showing me a post on guru that was posted earlier showing a req8 gloom

I like Toadie's solution to the shield. One-of-a-kind stuff and stuff so rare it's practically impossible to PC can be a drag to sell for something as boring as money. Much more fun to give it to a buddy where you know it'll have a home in a good collection. As a bonus, you get years of rights to tease the friend about being such a charity case. (Well, if the relationship is at all based on sarcasm like it is with my friends anyway.)

Eh, anyways... that give away was like 2 years ago (quite exactly, start of january 2009) and I was about to quit. Sadly I got myself a new computer and lost all of my screen shots, but I searched the web and think I found a screen of the gloomie:

It's borkborkbork though and the sword is long gone (hack) and the shield.... as I said given to Eir Of Asgard who still has it. I also gave him an Echovald req8 tac. -3/hex 30hp along with it. Whatever, I have helped him a lot building his collection but I also made some good profit on him, and we're still quite good friends even if we don't really play anymore, so he deserves it.

On the req8 glooms, here's the theory: we figured out that although there's excessive UW farming going on no req8 glooms were brought onto the market. Not even bad mod ones. We only know of 2 (although there could be more), and both of those came on the market shortly after mid 2007. In mid 2007 there was the EotN-Release-Event - and we of course do not claim those gloomies dropped in Eotn, but during the days of the event strange thinks happened (regarding drops). Not only in EotN, but all over the game the drop tables seemed to be strange, dropping quite more req8 than usually.... so might sound strange, but nobody could proof me different so far.

PPPPS: I think I had paid around 150eish for my req8 str. inscr. gloomz back than in autumn 2007 and it used to be my main shield. I even asked Eir to sell it back to me later at 1000e range or whatever, but he wouldn't. I appreciate that, because you'd never sell a present

Not the time of buying is relevant, but the time of dropping. If you get the seller to tell us when it dropped it would be great. Wouldn't surprise me if you proof me wrong, could be could be

I'll have you know I'm actually not that bad anymore. I took some lessons in gaming from some local pros. I now understand clicking the mouse and using keys at the same time!
