So i have been playing guildwars for 4 years. Never have i had this problem.
Im a sophomore at Roger Williams University, and i noticed this when i re-installed Gdub on my laptop. I would log in, go to character select, and then be stuck at the loading screen.

Ill leave for a while, restart, then get into the town or wherever, but not be able to move or do anything, (could view inventory and such, and sometimes saw other people.) then get booted back to the character select with a code=007. Then after 20times i might get in and be able to do a mission or a run then it will go back to the loading screen and stay there.

Any thoughts? Should i talk to IT at my school about something? If so what? Any help would be appreciated!

p.s. when i do get to play, it is not laggy, and i recently brought a ethernet cable so now im plugged into the wall, still no signifigant fix, and there is nothing wrong with the computer.

Yes, speak to your university. They might be interpreting Guild Wars as a P2P program or something similar, and traffic shaping it.

Ask them if they can add an exception for Guild Wars or provide you a means of playing the game without the system flagging it as a blockable program.

I had a similar problem like this a couple years ago (it's actually why I had quit playing the game then). Turned out that my ISP (verified by other people in the community who played GW) had done something that was preventing GW from connecting. This was after I had played the game for more than a year on that connection. I don't live there now, but friends still there say they've fixed it recently. Nobody knows when as we all had to quit playing back then >.>
