Is abandoned quest no longer pickupable?

I had the quest where you choose between Jai the archer and Sousuke the elementalist. I accidentally had them mixed in my mind, and chose the elementalist when I wanted the archer. I found this out when I went to fight the avatar and the wrong one was there. I abandoned the quest before turning it in, thinking I could pick it up again for the right one this time. I can't find the quest giver now; did abandoning it mean I can't get either hero until I work through the campaign?

All quests should be "pickupable" once abandonned inless its a one time only quest.

This, the char who gave that mission is in the Sun Docks, you meet him when you first arrive in Elona from either Cantha or Tyria, in that location. That's when he gives the quest, FWIR.
