Thank You ArenaNet for the new Halloween Quests.

First of all Thank you very much ArenaNet for Halloween and the new quests! No More Gates of Kryta!
I only wish I had time at the beginning of the halloween week to start doing them. hehehehe but this is what I managed and just by enjoying the game. took 5 of my characters through the quests from both kamadan and lion's arch, couldn't make all 10 lololol which was my plan.
anyway thank you!

Meh... I've only ever bothered to push one of my characters fully through the campaigns, so it wasn't worth it for me to go for them on any others... Really took advantage of the UW quests though, but I'm still so far off with regards to the consumable titles that it feels like I've made no notable progress... :-\
mrmango
I am impressed by your grind.

i like to say thank you to anet i didnt do the quest that many times but the times i was able was nice to have something new to. im not one to items so i got s decnt bunch of items to go with the ones i got during the mad ling appearances.

I loved the new quests. They were well written, witty and have me enticed to see what will happen.
It will be a shame if they just leave it all here.
Also while some may complain about the increased rewards... I think Anet did the right thing. The titles should now be reachable for more people especially with GW2 coming so soon.

*cry* I only had two more characters who needed to do the NF quests. I did not do the Tyria quests with many characters because they just took too long. I wish the event went on for a little while longer

Only these?
I have at least 16 * 250 for going through all the NF halloween quests thanks to 6-heroes mode. Then I only brought half of them through the Prophecies halloween quests because it was starting to feel like a grind. |
your wrong ( sorry) mrmango, previous year i ground (grind) and repeating Gates of Kryta till i fall asleep and only managed 3-4 stacks
this is like snap of the fingers to me.
Tip for getting into the mausoleum
If next year the same quest is available, Majesty Rest. you can get 6x Candy Corn Gurads (mad king's guard) by checking both the entrance/exit of majesty rest, its very close to the balthazar shrine, but the better way is to run pass the bone dragons, entering the mausoleum without fighting them. You won't die! just ran pass them.
Tip for "Defeat Geoffrey the Butler to recover Mad King Thorn's left slipper".
body block him so he don't run away otherwise you're gonna have to kill more to complete the quest, I ran to the spot, wait for him to finished the talk, and kill him not even 15 minutes.
Tip for "Open the Flood Gates of Death" (Kamadan quest)
get the Mad King's Guard to trigger the quest, run back to the gate near bone palace where you exited after mounting the wurms. kill all that appear. leave, get reward, also not more then 15 minutes.
Tip for getting rid of the SUITORS
kill the suitors , you can leave the rest, it doesn't affect the quest, but watch out for Monks.
Scary
Yep Ty indeed.
And true you didn't really had to grind to get some stacks.
Sure I have guildies who have 8 stacks of every items as cookies and corns etc.
me in previous years just had 1 or 2 stacks, now I had about 12.
And that was by doin quests with several chars and some skellie hunts.
Nop Anet sure did a good thing by giving everybody the chance to earn some gold and ToT's

Anet is doing the things easy for lazy people.. now with this quests and stacks of ToT's everybody can finish the party/drunkard/sweet titles, or win a fast money selling this stacks at 25-30k and in a few days at more...
Some people of my guild gots +70 stacks of tot's in the few days...
Anet only want people stay "happy" with the game, and dont need to spend time in "hard" things...

all in all... very well done imo.

by the way, those are acquired in not more then 24 hours hehehehehehehe
Johny bravo
The quests this year didn't really change that much as far as stack of ToTs. In the end the majority of the stacks I got was from farming Skeletons for every little bit helps. You could easily get 2 stacks in just a little over an hour + the 20K that went with it.
I was GWAMM well before I started farming for TOT bags using these quests I just do them because it is kind of fun rolling though NM UW with random pugs. No pressure from the SC pros, or dying b/c you are soloing. You grabbed one SOS one UA and then whatever pugs wanted to come for additional DPS. If money was the only thing holding people back from GWAMM I have no problem with them getting it from grinding out ToT bags. The other alternative is doing DOA or UW SCs for ectos and armbraces, same thing different method. This eliminates the middle man because you don't have to spam for sweets. I think the people complaining are the ones that want to sell their title points items a lot but can't as the flood of bags has crashed the markets for now
The new quests were cool but I hope there is more to them coming up soon. They seemed to hint towards something but there was no conclusion.

lol, some guildies got over 100stacks
distilledwill
I got a grand total of no stacks (at least, not a whole stack at a time). I opened all the bags I got from completing the LA and Kamadan quests on one character, then just continued mapping!
Booo to grind, booo!

The new quests were great fun. Something different to do and the new lore was great. Can't wait to see the continuation next year. I still have three characters who haven't reached the Bone Palace yet, so I'll have to work on them.
Of course, because I'm working on Party title, most of my ToTs contained sweets and alcohol.

I got over 5000 points in stuff. I could have got all the points I needed to max the titles, but I just can't stand to grind the same quest for too long.
To Chicken To Die
Thanks for making even more titles usless and worth nothing more then they were . Party animal sweeth tooth and drunkard are now worth even less then 500k.

I loved the quests, too. Several of them were incredibly amusing, especially the dialogue from the quest givers, and the dialogue with the stablehand and the guy who stole Thorn's book. The things the quest givers say when you ask them about the quest after accepting it was funny, too.
I kept having the feeling that much of the dialogue was merely copied from other sources, though.

In terms of those quests, repeating them on four chars is farming, on six+ chars is grinding. I did them on two chars - first run to see the lore behind the quests, the other to help out my fiancee - also gave the ToTs away.
So yes, i am impressed by your grinding.
Just pre-prot yourself from a hero and shadowstep to the entrance.
Loved the quests and the dialogues, but got a bit disappointed by all that hype and 'perhaps next year' outcome.

Lol the repeatable quest with farming skellies was a bit too much I see. Many of my guildies also got some huge ammounts of tot stacks.
MithranArkanere
I had no room for all of that. My first tabs are filled with dedicated miniatures, since that Mahk idiot won't make me copies of mine like the hat maker no matter how much I ask him.
Luckily, the secret laboratory effect helped me tacking care of some stuff quickly to make room for more.

I really enjoyed the new quests. It was rewarding to the Altoholic PvE'rs that bothered to make all the professions(like myself) and play through the campaigns. It also felt less grindy than farming skele's or Raptor/Veattir Farm. And most importantly it was fun.
I have had my consumable titles for quite some time, and feel its time for the more casual player to have a chance at those titles as well. So, the generous rewards given by the quests was a nice bonus. And, I get to sell all my stuff for profit(minus the Candy Apples/Corn I'm hording for myself). Win-Win if you ask me.

Voodoo Rage
I was very lazy this year and just did the Elonian quests across all of my characters (I have a lot!). That alone gave me a crap load of ToT's, but honestly at this point I'm kind of just sitting on all this cash and realizing that I don't really have a strong desire to buy anything in particular or chase anymore titles. I kind of feel like Conan the Barbarian at the end of the movie, just sitting on my throne of wealth all alone...
Missing HB
So yes , when i look at how many ToT bags stacks people did ( not even doing costume brawl/GvG , simply by repeating quest 24/7) , i wonder where's the logic ....
Answer to the thread : those quests were too easy to do and not really fun ( mausoleum , just kill 5 mobs each 2 steps...) . However , thanks for trying to do something new at least...

Do agree!
The new quests were awesome fun! I really enjoyed the story. It was also nice to be able to do it with friends. The old quests are fun, but sort of boring just because you're alone. :/
They were easy, but personally, that's not a turn-off. I'm more interested in hearing new story and new lore than being introduced to a new brick wall (hello, my name is Battle for Lion's Arch) to have to slam through. Especially since we're all itching to get ready for GW2.
Not to mention, I think people forget that Guild Wars isn't completely full of veteran players. There are still new players that are joining every day. It'd be unfortunate to introduce new festival quests that they couldn't partake in because it's too hard. These are festival events after all, not endgame content.
Bravo! I hope to see more new quests next year!

With our guilds almost daily UW run, we were able to cap 35+ skeletons each time and one extra stack for killing dhuum. ToTs were great and all but the new quest was OK.
I felt the quest didn't have an ending and that we were only doing them for tots.

I love how half the responses to this thread are "lol noob I got more ToTs than you". Way to miss the point guys.
I agree with, OP. Well-done Anet, I really enjoyed this Hallowe'en as well

I too loved the new quests. I wish that they were all a little bit harder. Maybe making the rewards for HM better? Perhaps instead of 50 Tots a quest could give 25 Tots and 25 more if done in hard mode?
Still, I was very happy with the content and ended up with a lot of bags myself.

Thank you Anet for the new Halloween Quests, especially the Mausoleum one - fantastic job, you have managed to get my excitement to levels not reached since 2005! But Regina says it was "unintended"... LOL!!!
As for the ToT bags, I got more than enough last year (the group skeleton capping was easily the most fun I've had in PvE for years), so this year I didn't actively pursue them, haven't even got to the 3 new quests in Nightfall. Still got around 8-9 stacks from all the various activities, even GvG.

I like how the Halloween quests gave me a few k worth of party, sweet, and drunkard points without spending a single plat with only a couple of hours on each day of the festivities.

really fun stuff! my only disappointment was about the unnamed lich in Droknar's Forge that ended up doing nothing. Besides that, i was SO STOKED to finally enter the area behind 'Ole Rotscale!

This means GW2 is just around the corner. ANet is trying to get people to max up their HoM fast.
