If the new hero isn't the mysterious assassin, then I have a feeling for some reason that this new hero will probably fit with the gw:beyond storyline for gw2. I think that maybe perhaps the new hero will be the next emperor-to-be of cantha? and that we have to train him up for the role since we were hero's. The new hero will also be a rt.

Along those lines... does anyone remember how before NF came out, Razah was supposed to be not a ritualist, but a an indeterminate class shifting hero that could be set to any primary?
Apparently ANet couldn't make it work back then, maybe they'll come up with it this time around.

Also its anyones guess what the next hero will be. As we have 26 and whenever the guildwars beyond goes to Cantha then Elona just make sure you implement the 7 hero option either when Embark beach is launched
I have to say we all go on looking for this and that but, in honesty we have never paid a penny for any content just the costumes/panes/slots ect
So i will be happy nomatter what is given as far as a hero is concered

Expect the unexpected....a few things, for those who thing is will be a sylvari hero, sorry but it can't be because they are not born yet and will not be for another 225 years. As for the Assassin i don't think it will be an assassin eather, why because they never specificly said when and how we got the new hero. For all we know it could be LT Thack Or it could be the Mad King himself. But we know this much....from people who are TC:

would rather it be one of the professions we are lacking a set of EXCEPT sin---I have yet to use my sins other than for weapons holders or on holiday quest (to level them up--not sure if my zenmais are all level 20 even)......

Anet stated that the new hero won't be something we've seen before. I doubt it's going to be something like just another that has only a primary and secondary option. If anything, I figured they'd be doing something like the idea mentioned above: a hero class that can shift throughout the other primaries as well as secondaries.
As for the race? No idea. But another non-human would be kind of neat to have around.

My choice since anet seems devoted on giving us stuff we do not need, and making the game so easy a faceroll on the keyboard works.....
A hero that is Classless. He/she Can re roll as any proffesion primary and secondary.
But whatever hero that anet chooses anyway, itll just make 99% of the players still playing today, complain that its not what they wanted and how badly anet fails.
The never ending cycle of Anet trying to grab players attention.

there are 3 groups with every little thing:
- the ones who want
- the ones who dont want
- the ones who dont care (and some of those complain about anything, because they have nothing better to do)
whatever anet, or any other company does, there's always a group who likes to complain and/or make others angry in discusssions
a hero which can be anything would be fun, many ways to use that hero
if such hero would come, i'd like to see repeatable quests (for each profession) which can change the primary of that new hero
or just a hero with no prof, and you gotta do 10 quests to enable them for that hero
new hero + quests, not to forget to make new quests which require that new hero, and maybe require that new hero with a certain prof
they can do so much, so i hope they do good

But the sad thing is Anet has completely changed.
Used to be When they introduced new content or anything along that line, it seemed like they actually cared.
Now when they introduce new content it seems slapped together and not very thought out. They seem to care more about selling costumes and storage panels. end dumb rant

I will never need an assassin hero. This is sad and frustrating. A Rit would have been so nice. One communing, one channeling, and one resto.

and yes, if i may post about what hero i wont like, its any melee :P
i never use koss,jora or goren if i dont need to (goren used for certain quests)
nice to see so much support for any/any hero
that would be good for anyone, just let the armor rating change with the primary, i know, thats alot of work, but hey, we get a whole new content with it toothink about it, a new content AND a hero we can make the way we want

while they're busy, they sell stuff
sure i'd like to see a free costume, but even the improved Anet wont do that
while waiting for the new content + hero, we can soon(i hope) enjoy full hero teams and a new pug outpost to make much better teams, and faster
they could also do less work, and let us choose between 10 quests for that hero, to get it with the primary prof the quest is about, and maybe hero-only skills
(still hoping for a djinn hero) :P
i do think they should(and maybe will) give us something while waiting for that all
i hope to see more from Anet soon enough
