Question:

How far in nightfall can you get ran too?
Do you have to completely follow the storyline.
- Can i start at a later mission instead of doing every mission

Nightfall is unrunnable, you can't start missions unless you've completed pre-requisite quests.

You can get a run to the gate of desolation, and some people can even run past the sulfurous wastes, but if you're going for the domain of anguish, it'll be a waste of time since you'll need to complete every previous mission to start the one that takes you to the Domain of Anguish.

you can run from place to place to some extent but mission outposts will appear as regular outposts until the preceding missions are complete
