Hi all,
I just came back to GW from a long break, and am trying to get into pvp mode again. I know you're supposed to be on armor set and cast on 40/40 set but it always seems to take forever when i swap.
ie. i start on f1
then i press f2 to change
(this usually takes around a second unless im just standing there making no action, and then it still takes half a second)
cast my spell
press f1 and takes .5-1 second
if i dont wait for the amount of time, i just end up not swapping at all (the game shows it swapping to the 2nd weapon set for .1 seconds and it immediately goes back to the original set)
i can't remember if this happened before but does this sound about right?
seems really clunky too me

I also agree with this. I find myself (in RA) sitting on my shield set the whole match. I never have a problem with spells not recharging fast enough, I run out of energy before then, which is when I switch to my 40/40, just for the energy. Especially since most teams go for the monk (once they get adrenaline), it's nice to have your 16 armor + 10 vs blunt damage against dev hammer wars, so you don't want to switch to your 40/40 set then.
What you might find useful, which helps me, is try heal in batches. Someone might call me a noob for this, but if you switch to your 40/40, heal everyone, then switch back and try not to cast for a while. It's similar to how I use bonetti's, since you want to get as much blocking and energy gain out of it, you want to make sure everyone will be ok for 5-10 seconds before you cast it. I imagine this is easier when you can prot people, whereas I always go heal.

I don't know how it used to be but I only recently started swapping multiple weapon sets mid-battle and I have the same experience as you. Seems ineffective when it takes so long to swap weapons.

I'm no pro, but I've always felt about the same. Like if I'm getting knock-locked I'll be spamming F2 for defensive set and can never seem to get it out, even when not q-knocked. Also in PvE I'll try to approach in shield set and switch to daggers just before getting in melee range. I always grunt when I get the "This skill requires a weapon of a different type 5 seconds after hitting F4 for Vamps.

using ur cancel key helps to swap faster(or just click with mouse on floor)

Don't your sets switch nearly instantaneously if you press "esc" just before switching?
I.e. if you're on F1, instead of just hitting F2, hit (in quick succession, NOT together) esc-F2, and there's almost no delay.
I read this once and tried it, and found it to work quite well, but I don't really pvp much (so not much weapon switching) so if this has changed, then I'm out of ideas, sorry.

You should use the Esc key before selecting which weapon set to switch to. Speeds it up a bit.
Easiest way is to use a macro on you mouse/keyboard.
