Edge of Extinction in raptor farming?

As a paragon, I looked up ways to farm the raptors and found this on pvx:

It seems like it would work very well with the runs I've done, but on every one the EoE spirit gets killed almost immediately by the patrolling raptor group.

I have tried many places but I still can't find a place to lay it down in range of Broodmother and away from the patrolling raptors (the ledge before the cave doesn't work like in the guide). If anyone has an idea, any help is appreciated!

Just enter Riven Earth with a full party. Run down to the cave and place EoE on the ledge. Send your team away (in the path of the patrolling Raptor group). as long as you make sure that they are grayed out, they won't leech any drops. And the party should be able to stop the raptors long enough to finish your farm.

* Spirit being killed by patrol group (leechers/henchies/heroes can be used to intercept the patrol outside of radar range).
