Name: Death By An Arrow
Idea for entry: Jingle Bears. LOTS AND LOTS OF JINGLE BEARS
genre of art: I'm not quite sure. I'd like to do another digital painting but i kind of have the urge to pick a different medium. Perhaps I'll do it as a mosaic, or as my art teacher called it a "collage" (i took little tiny squares of colours out of magazines and glued them togethor to make a picture. collage sounds too much like i just cut out big pictures and glued them togethor)

I might also consider doing something in pencil, and cheaply colouring it in photoshop after :x

I really can't decide. I feel like the mosaic has a better chance at winning because its not just "another digital piece". Not that the digital pieces are bad or anything, because theyre really really nice. They're just really really common :P

I was at the zoo today (Happy international red panda day ;D) and got some nice polar shots for refrence, incase i need more.

@satomz: I'm pretty sure music is fine, and will be categorized in the same way as the rest of the art. If you look through the list of awards, all (except the literature one) could be used to judge music too.
Same goes for videos as well, I think. Everything should be welcome.

Hmm... I'll see if I have some Wintersday screenshots. I know I've still got the old Wintersday calendar hanging around somewhere...

I put up the old Wintersday calendar artwork over HERE.
Ahhhh, nostalgia. Hopefully this will help people with inspiration, there is a lot of amazing artwork there.

Will definitely try to do a Wintersday calendar project for GW2 again. :3

I have never entered a GW art competition (or any art contest for that matter) and i have never been artistically inclined but every year when i see some of the winners i wish i had entered.

So this year i kinda think i have a decent idea, i just have no clue how im going to do it since ive never done anything like it before.

I don't have any good Wintersday screenshots that I've kept. It would be nice to have one single gallery of Wintersday screenies to inspire artists, but I'm not sure how to go about making one where everyone could add their own screenshots.

I only asked to be able to edit Tzu's first post here, so I can help her keep up to date with everything. She's suuuper busy.
I don't know what Inde + Nolani mods decided, as far as I know it's temporary, just for the duration of the Wintersday workshop

So I'm going to work on getting some donations figured out.
Some of them would depend on when the workshop/official contest ends (for, say, a stack or two of frosty tonics if the quest is available during wintersday again. and if its before the end date).
Some other things I've got are some ded minis (but not just the lame ones, some of the cooler ones as well :P), maybe a few unded minis (im not sure what ive got), a few weapon skins I like but never found a use for in my storage, some gold quantities, and miscellaneous other things.

I'll work on organizing them and I'll PM you Minami once I've finished.

There have been music entries in the past, so I definitely see no reason why it wouldn't be allowed. Same for videos. So, basically, go for it

And I'll have to poke through my storage and see if I have anything I can donate. Probably not much, but I'll look anyway.

I'll probably organize it again for next year's Wintersday. GW2 should be out by then anyway.

I got started on my drawing during some free time today. The scanner totally killed the lines (there's something wrong with the scanner, no matter how much I fiddle with the settings half of the lines are still missing from the scanned image), but it's enough to show what I'm going for.
