Yea the Asura do make a lot of things that feel more sci fi than fantasy like warpgates "stargates", teleporter, and robotic golems. If you squint your eyes they even look like little gray aliens.

Wintersday and Halloween should be a given in GW2 as a lot of it takes place in Kryta. At least that area should have the festivals.

rofl, thanks Verene. What's up now is exactly half of the entire story so at least I'll have a good sized part 1 and part 2 XD I would have posted more chapters but then my hubby was nagging about me going to sleep D: At least it's better to post two parts that are the same length rather than having most of the story as part 1 and then like a chapter or two as part 2 XD
Plus, I revealed the answer to one of the mysteries in part 1 so it seemed like a good stopping point! I'll probably change my drawing thread to a 'drawing and stories' thread when the second half is done so don't worry, you'll get to read the ending eventually!

Hey everyone! I'm sorry I've been absent, my holidays were -crazy-. I didn't get to finish my piece, but I did want to show the last of what I had worked on, which was some minor recoloring and touch ups here and there. :C Hopefully I'll be able to finish next year. Gonna go look through all the pieces now!

Most important thing first, as organizer of the Party i was checking out locations, i found what looks like a very cool place for the after party which harbours the Wintersday Spirit all year round, or so it seems
... Still wanted to check with people here if they agree with this location (aka. can get there) ... the location is: Ice Tooth Cave Prophecies, Shiver Peaks ... picked it due to atmosphere, it being in prophecies (which i would guess everybody has), would like to know if anyone opposes to said location for any reason ? The date is still to be set, seeing judging will also depend on the official results, when all is planned out Minami will get the honours of letting everybody know when to be where ^^ Hmm, looks like a lot of very nice art again, judges are going to have a hard time picking out the winners... tobad i was way to busy with IRL stuff to ever get started, guess the idea i had/have will have to wait till next year :/ But on the brighter sight, i have my prize sorted out and Minami will hopefully double check the value (guestimate) and put it up in the OP Good Work all

I can always do a few runs if people want to come with a character to there that haven't been there before.

Oooh, that's a nice place for a party. It's always a quiet outpost, too, and it's nice and small.
I can also do runs to get there if people need it - if I can remember what my running build on my Dervish is XD Haven't done that in forever.

Looks like the other places get redistributed as Frost mentioned, although now that I look at the note "* If there are no completed entries into the Literature category, the prizes will be distributed among the other categories," I'm wondering if my entry will count since it's only half the story :/ Guess I should have just stopped at the snowball fight and said "The End" >_>

And in all honesty, as good as your story is, its probably MUCH easier to judge as a section. Wouldn't worry bout that too much

Icetooth sounds like a wonderfully quiet and wintery place for a party. Count me in! I can also run people there beforehand, if someone doesn't have it for their 'toon. :3
@Arya: Wow, you should've just submitted that as your final piece for the Workshop! That looks really beautiful, and I think it looks completed enough to be worth submitting. Still, deadline has passed, and I'm not sure how strict people are here about it... @Thistle: Literature seems to be a changing category... sometimes you get tons of literature entries, other times there's none. Kind of like sometimes you get lots of music entries (like now) and sometimes none. Perhaps there should be some category that encompasses everything that's not drawing and crafts? Might be easier to judge non-drawing pieces as a whole then, even if it's not a perfect system.

Sentient I love that pic, makes me smile. Just wondering though, are the things dropping of the back an accident due to speed or is it a new delivery process? Will save Santa from getting sooty in those chimneys I guess. Thistle, I haven't read yours yet as I am slightly reluctant to start if it is only half the story, are you planning to finish it off? Oh and Ice Tooth Cave sounds lovely, unfortunately I am rarely available at party times as I only play when when family commitments allow. I was wondering though as Tommy and I have both offered opressor weaps of choice,which obviously couldn't be handed over to the workshop organisers like the rest of the prizes, how do we know which winner to get for? Will it be posted on this thread?

@Thistle: Your entry counts as finished, since you posted the final/finished version in the workshop. It doesn't matter that it has a sequel coming someday
@Aeronwen: The prizes will be distributed during the Workshop party, and those who win an Oppressor Weapon of choice will tell either me or Perynne (or Tzu, if she makes it) which one they'd like. As the winner announcement progresses in-game, I'll be updating this thread's first post with the winners' names. Once they tell me which weapon they'd like, I'll either let the donators know at the party (if they're present), or will send a PM here on Guru. The winners whose weapons can't be given right then and there will have to wait for a bit until the donator can turn in the medals and get the weapon. Hope this makes sense ^_^ Shewmake

Hmmm... Good point, pery. Although, what if there was just a separate music/vid category and just a single winner for lit, and runner-up are still elligible for other rewards? I was looking back and saw that Konig had first brought up the idea of removing the lit category so we can all compete for the same awards, which I'm now kinda supporting in a modified sense. I'd like it if there wasn't any award distinctions according to medium, but I think having them there will encourage writers/musicians/video artists to come join in the fun
Aero, if you're like me and hate cliffhangers, I'd wait a little longer for the full story. There are two major mysteries (Nix's reasons for showing up and the hooded man), and while I reveal 1 of them, I do leave it as a cliffhanger (that's just how my chapters roll >_< ). I have the chapter outlines done for the whole story, and dialogue going on in my head so I know the ending and could even tell you the planned last lines, so I will finish the story just to get it out of my head XD

I think the idea of having one single literature prize, and perhaps one single video prize (where the entries are still eligible for the other awards as well) is a good one. That way literature and video wouldn't get swamped under all of the drawing entries, but they'd still be part of the greater whole.
I'll suggest this to Tzu when she comes back.

On the opressors thingy, wouldn't it just be much more simpler if the opressor weapon donators give the prize givers the medals? That way, prize givers can go get the opp weap as soon as they find out the winners want :/ Ofc prize giver would have to be able to get the weap.
Other Arts I'm not doubting aeronwen or tommy's ability to deliver, but if (excuse me if i offend) if there part in this was excluded then it might be simpler. I don't know +p Otherwise... , still like to know if people dont have Prophecies (so i can perhaps pick a place in EotN), but as some mentioned the place looks perfect for this party, a nice smallish outpost, nice and cosy, it even has some non decorated Christmass trees and animated snow falling ... so a great atmosphere just from that alone, now add a bunch of party people and we are set @Flying Ninja Monk, my prize is being checked by Minami for value and will hopefully be up there soon ... i can tell you now though that its quite a list of various items and gifts representing a value between 80-100k (seeing market prizes do fluctuate) ... Similar to 'The Spirit of Halloween' prize, the spirit of wintersday prize has: booze, gifts, party items, sugar items, a Elite Tome of choise and some more things @Aerowen, although the exact date hasnt been set yet, i can tell you we aim to have the party on a saterday, and as mentioned in the OP we will try and keep the party going as long as possible, prolly not 24h but hopefully a good chunk of it ... this mainly to give as many people that want to, the opportunity to come and meet people IVL (in virtual live) and enjoy the party atmosphere, so i hope that with this extended 'walk in' party on a 'free' weekend day, you too will be able to join in, if only for how long you can make it
