So When is This Next Update Happening?

Last major skill update happened May 21. That's almost 6 months ago. Whatever happened to bimonthly updates? At some point they became quarterly, now it's obviously twice a year. In my opinion, they could keep the game much more interesting by giving us many small skill updates, instead of one or two major updates a year. Frequent updates would give the impression that this game isn't already half dead.

I'm one of those who enjoy watching GvG battles and would definately try it out if I wasn't already gone bored with the "meta". But as it is now, it's been the same builds and guilds for over 5 months. It's just not appealing anymore. And even though I'm mostly a PvE player, I'd be happy if they just left PvE as it is and focused on PvP. PvP really needs a hug right now. Frequent hugs.

The bit that pisses me off is they can find the time to design costumes on time for the few people that think wow thats cool lets wast money on them but can't find the time for game fixes, skill updates and little bits of new content for the players that play because we love Guild Wars

Designers and programmers are different people. That's what they say. And I believe it.

I've already said it in two threads now, so let's go on to a third!

The art department (who made the costumes) have nothing to do with the live team (who do the updates, and that consists of seven people). Creating costumes does not take resources away from skill updates or new content.

Well what about the one that was supposed to happen yesterday. Did it happen or did it do anything?
No, because there wasn't one that was supposed to happen yesterday, that was just guessing.

It is definitely true. I'm a designer. I know a couple of programmers. We have no idea how to even wrap our heads around the way the other thinks They are two completely different jobs with pretty much zero similarities.

So change designers for programmers, lolz. Costumes won't improve the game.

Or move a few of the programmers from the GW2 team to the GW1 team... this has got to be like the 5th thread that I have mentioned this in.

There was no update that was supposed to happen yesterday. That was just a rumor.

I smell some BS on that. the artists can't do anything to the game unless the live team (Programers) say its possible. If they are busy working out if art/costume crap is possible they arn't working on if skill/ content updates are possible.

Most Players don't want art, we want to see GW to get the attention its been lacking for a long time. If they can't be bothered With GW because of GW2 what hope do we have that Anet won't just abandon GW2 at a point when they have made their money off it and say "never mind we're making GW3"

GW is the game that made ANet they shouldn't forget it, Because even if they do the people that play/played and love the game won't and that will hurt the future of GW/GW2 and beyond

What makes you think ANet has the authority to delegate more manpower to the GW1 team? That sounds more like a decision that would ultimately be up to NCSoft.

They could really do themselves a big favour by finishing the updates before they announce they are coming

We don't have to know its finished but it would be really impressive if they said our next update is xxx and its going to be added to the game on Tuesday August the 10th at 3.30 pm and then low and behold it comes in on time.

Wouldn't even slow down the updates because while one is sitting on the desk awaiting the go date the programmer could be working on the next one to come.

I guess some idiot in the company thinks its really productive to announce things well before they have worked out how to do it and how long it will take to code.
Guess what, it isn't productive it just annoys people, never tell us we are having cake tomorrow till you have actually bought the cake

If the decision is up to NCSoft, then they are at fault. I don't know the structure of the organization(s) that make this game.

Holy crap, people really don't read a damn thing.

If you read the interview yesterday that talked about the process to make the costumes, you'd notice that none of the people who were involved in that are part of the GW1 live team. Replacing them with programmers won't do anything.

Not that replacing designers with programmers will help anyway, unless you want no one designing any new content.

Okay can someone show me where it says Anet promised this content?

From my understanding, it was all when they do it, and if they do it. I never read anywhere that we were promised seven hero parties.

http://www.arena.net/blog/what-does-...survey-results

"To these ends, we’re going to be adding Embark Beach"

"You can look forward to filling out your party with Heroes as another feature of the free update build that will include Embark Beach."

Those are pretty definite "This is going to happen" statements.
