Yeah i've been trying get ppl To try get those drops, Id even like to see max r8 Gold sword drop would make my day even tho its knewn theyre possible i havent seen any ;( Its example how rare theyre it, Personally i tried farm vermins abit sometime ago. i had 2-3 r8 offhands but nothing else intresting. some 1pt off r8's

lol, I never really cared much for vermin farming. I did nap quarter solo for much better celestial drops.

The update to staves also happened at the same time, 2 days before NF release so that staff must have dropped on or before 25th October 2006, so therefore proves nothing at this point.
This argument will go round in circles until:
1. People get bored, then it will resurface in 3 months time, or
2. A req 7 MAX Gold item drops, with screenshots on the ground, or a Req 8 MAX Gold drops that isn't one that has already been confirmed as still dropping.

As to proving they can't drop, how do you go about proving a negative again?
Myself and many others have been farming/chest running areas that have the best chance of dropping these to try and see if they can still drop.
I'm sure we would all welcome anyones evidence of one dropping so be sure and let us know if you find one before your accts all get banned.

1. They changed every staff that was already in existance that was Green, crafted or collector. But also everything that DROPPED since that date. Seen as you have a drop staff, that was to the non-inherant style, then this predates the update.
And also, you need to reread my post re: Req 8 Items

The fact that they got this wrong hardly makes some random statement from "John" relayed by "Gaile" a solid fact given their track record of incorrect/incomplete statements.
If you want to continue with the "but I read it on the internet so it has to be true" approach feel free but some guys cousin heard from his sister's friend that the clerk at 7-11 said so isn't all that convincing.
Perhaps a screen shot of a max req8 that isn't shields/foci/swords which have already been proven to still drop would work but repeating unreliable sources doesn't move this forward a bit.

I just wonder what's the use for a none max dmg req 6 or 7 weapon (NOT SHIELDS).....i've had some of them farming in Tyria but everyone said they were to merch.
I ask to expert traders: what's the use of this items? i understand a low req shield can be used in pvp by casters, but a non max hammer??? what's the use except selling to collectionist??

Ofc some non max like r7 6-27 15^50/+5e Axes orso Canthan skins etc have lil value for collectibility
