The trouble is max damage golds without a useful inherent mod (like 10 hct all or 19-20 hct something specific) aren't much use to most folks.
I'll second system.fan's guess that it's merch food. You might get a few plat from someone looking for the skin, but I doubt that would be an easy sell at all.
