Faction

I finally woke up and realized I wasn't gaining luxon faction any longer. It seems I hit a cap at 20,000. Is there a good way to raise the cap via PvE ?

Take your pick. Doing the easy mission related stuff gets it high pretty quickly. Befriending the Luxons and Unwaking Waters will put it up to 27k alone, and if that isn't enough winning once in FA/JQ will reward 5k each.

You can see what the faction caps are (balthazar, kurzick and luxon) checking the first tab of the hero panel (press H on the keyboard).

Also don't forget to turn in your faction for rewards.

You can swap faction for PvE skills, Jadiete Shards, Scrolls for The Deep or donate it to your Alliance.

When you do any of these you will add Faction to your reputation title and increase it's progress. Also, each time you increase your title's progress it will add to your Faction cap.

I messed up here I think... I pathed through the Kurzick missions first, so I have a 27k Kurzick cap... but after I realized I needed Luxon faction to get the armor I wanted, I switched over and did all the Luxon missions...but I'm guessing that since I had already done Befriending and Unwakening on the Kurzick side, it didn't give me the same faction cap raise when I did it for the Luxons... hense 20k cap still.

Did you finish Unwaking Waters by joining from the Kurzick side as well? Doing both sides of the story should unlock the same faction cap. If you're unsure, talk to the faction reward NPC and ask about raising your cap. He'll tell you what you haven't done yet.

I did both kurzick and luxen unwaking waters... my map shows them both completed but only kurzick faction shows a cap of 27,000... my luxen cap is 20k.

To find out which actions that raise your faction cap you haven't yet done, go talk to a Kurzick Bureaucrat and a Luxon Scavenger. They will list everything you can still do to raise the cap for their respective factions.

Have you won a battle in FA or JQ kurzick-side (and not on luxon side), or played a kurzick challenge mission (while not any luxon one), or played urgoz (but not the deep)?

You'll probably need to do it from both sides. Both the Luxon and Kurzick Unwaking Waters is the same mission, which is why they both appear complete even though you've only done it once. Entering from the Luxon side would mean you were representing the Luxons.
