Sending H/H away = higher chance for green?
WhiteAsIce
Say you are with all H/H and you approach a boss that drops a unique item. You kill off all normal foes, leaving the boss alive, then you flag your H/H way off radar. If you then solo the boss, does that increase your chances of receiving the green item, or is it the same chance with the H/H?

If you flag the heroes far away so their names are grey and you can no longer select them then any item that drops from the boss cannot be assigned to them, therefore if it drops it will be assigned to you.
It doesn't increase the drop rate of a Green but it does mean that if it does drop, it will drop for you and not one of your heroes or henchmen.

A good example of this is my trip to the Tombs
I brought heroes to assist on hard spots, but I sent them away and soloed the 3 darknesses and got 8 greenies:

The greens in Tombs are a bad example. They always drop and its not 1 per person
I got 3 greens from 1 darkness with a full party fighting within radar range

In my experience, sending your heroes away gives you a greater chance at getting a greeny. I used this strategy to get Keht's Aegis multiple times in the Junundu Worm. Granted the drop rate for greens is abysmally low, making it hard to argue in favor of one method over the other, but still, it works.

As far as most greens go from normal bosses removing henchies out of the picture increases your chance by having all drops assigned to you rather then you or 7 others.
