Bug: War In Kryta Questline Broken

Yeah, I'm stuck as well.

I've never liked the Recruit Ebon Vanguard portion of this quest. I think it was very poorly designed and so I've skipped it on most characters, but now I'm stuck with having to complete it and I can't.

Here's my main issue. We have to help Keiran get his picnic items together. No problem. It sounded like a fun quest until I found out which items he requires to complete the quest.
Drake Kabob - not an issue. A bit frustrating with the low drop rate, but do-able.
Candles - Again, not bad. I have plenty of honeycombs from Nicky and even if you don't, they are craftable ingame.
Birthday Cupcakes and Apple Cider - Here's where I get angry. These aren't available ingame. If you don't happen to have any in storage then you need to buy from other players (yeah, good luck with that) or just not do the quest or wait until they are available ingame.

The cupcakes became available shortly after the quest was introduced, so they aren't a big issue. The Cider won't be here until next week. Some players have never been able to complete this quest because of that.

actually you can give him substitute items, those are merely the perfect items he wants. Alternately you can give him 3 dwarven or hunter's ale (both very common) and 3 pumpkin cookies will work for an alternate sweet.

WiK is broken for me as well cant get the inquisitor quests after bauer

Glad it's not just me then.

I just unlocked LA Keep on one character and only the daily wanted quest was available, couldn't get the 3 starting Wanteds as they just weren't there.

I have NEVER helped him get his picnic together EVER! To be honest with you i couldnt be bothered and i was able to complete all the WiK and now awaiting the 3rd quest to be sorted in the HotN

One of my characters had Riverside Asassination in his log, and i assumed he'd killed the inquisitors however on the log it still displayed this:
- Defeat inquisitors ...as his next objective.

My paragon on the otherhand had riverside asassination too but it said her next objective was to enlist the vanguard as her allies...something doesn't seem right here.
EDIT: I had to then go outside the eye and have the speech which im sure ive done before where Kieran departs etc and gwen cries. Im pretty sure i would have done this before...

Just also found out on another character after finishing the scavenger hunt and seeing the ebon vanguard speech outside the eye that it update on arrival to the keep. However, you do not need to see the speech inside the keep in order to obtain the Inquisitor Lashona Quest.
Surely you shuld finish the speech inside the keep before it allows for WANTED: Lashona to appear, possible problem with quest trigger? I'll keep you updated

From what i know - the ebon part is only to allow the spawn helpers also include ebon members as i did most of wik before i did the scavenger hunt.
Weirdly tho and im not sure how but ive managed on 2 chrs to walk into la keep - witness the dialog and be given both times the mustering a responce quest.Is the bug only affecting quests upto a little help from above as ive seen on here and heard players saying they got that far and cannot take any after ( think its temple of the intollerable ... isnt that anets hq ? lol ).

Yeah just finished A Little Help From Above, and no quests after that. But for some reason, it gave me Inquisitor Lashona again when I've already done it.

So did that thinking maybe a glitch or something, and still nothing.

thats different from what is discussed in this thread. I completed the scavenger hunt without a cupcake or cider and managed just fine. What is borken now is that the next quest in the chains arent given out.

dont know how or why, but i logged on today and WANTED: Lashona was there, but i couldent get the final WANTED quest, so i still cant continue in the questline.

Just to add to this, I'm also stuck after Riverside Assassination.

I believe that without the ciders you can complete the quest by giving one of the other items again. I could be wrong, i quote with this far far in memory.

Had Riverside in my quest log pre-update saw that the update was new content so thought i would catch up. Finished Riverside and now Salma Refuses to give out the next quest.

I don't know who stole her cookies but please give them back so she will be happy again, and I can continue with the last 3 quests for War in Kryta.

So no idea when it'll be fixed...

I listened to the speech and all I had pop up was Bauer and the daily bounty :/ Completing Bauer didn't open up the next two bounties either. I received the reward and then sat twiddling my thumbs.

And yes, you can complete the scavenger hunt with other items. There's a list on wiki of what Thackeray will and won't accept right here. Just bear in mind that if it's not a "perfect" item, he'll want 3 or them ¬_¬ Most of the Halloween items are a no. I don't why why he would rather give Gwen rice wine over absinthe. Silly man. No wonder she turned him down over that.

It should also be noted with the scavenger hunt: If you choose to give qty. 3 of a less than perfect item the hunt will be completed. However! As soon as you complete the Battle for LA, you can no longer give Thackery hunt items! What I am getting at: On 3 toons, I gave him 3 lesser alcohols. But I was hoping to wait until next week, farm some hard apple ciders, and turn those in AS WELL to get some more paper wrapped parcels - basically working the hunt to maximize my free gifts! Unfortunately on those 3 toons, I completed the Battle for LA and can no longer go back next week and turn in ciders. I guess I am just putting this out there for those who may work in new toons - in order to maximize your gifts from the hunt, you MUST complete it before completing the Battle for LA quest!

Is ArenaNet aware that both WiK and the new quest line are broken? Is there an update I haven't seen? Wiki people, has any dev posted about this? I sent a support ticket but haven't received any response back yet.

I see acknowledgement about the Kieran quest from Anet but nothing about the Gwen loop or the first WiK quest line being broken.

...but of course I still can't get "A Little Help From Above" from Princess Salma. :/
