Guild cape viewing idea

i get annoyed when i change the cape for my guild and there are ALWAYS some members who dont like it, so i was thinking last night, everytime the GL changed the cape a 'alert' or a 'sub announcement' would appear on the guild chat channel, so all online guild members could see what the guild leader was changing the cape to, then they could give ideas to the GL what they want done to the cape so eventually there would be a design that would make everyone happy, this way you could save money time and prevent little arguments , obviousely not ALL guild members will be online at the same time, and when you do change the cape when theyre not online when they do come online they will probably rant about the cape but atleast u will make some or most of the guild members online happy

Yeah, I could go with that. Would make communicating a lot easier, at least.

the making of guildmarks seem to be an issue in all games =)

but on the other hand ... if you think the mark you wear is more important then the people you play with, then you play for the wrong reason ...

if you play in 'Guild of Mega Cool' because their name and killer style Cape and not for the nice people in it ... well ... =)

I rather play with 'Crazy Muppets from Planet Monkey' (don´t know if this is a real guild I just made it up) with their pink and neongreen logo if they are a nice and easy bunch to get along with then a stiff guild with the 'coolnes' factor ...

The suggestion is indeed a good one, however, their is something you fail to realize. You can't please the masses.To win over a majority is the democratic way, but this isn't a democracy, this is a guild. The GL leads, the officers follow by doing the GL's will,and the lower guys follow suit. That is the way a guild is originally constructed. In a heirarchial system. Leader,officers,followers...in that order.To let them give input is nice, but the cape design is up to the guild leader in the end.In my guild,The League Of Alchemists, the leadership is split between 2 players. They have contrasting styles when it comes down to what the cape should look like.Recently, I was given the chance to make a cape for the guild. I made one, but a few grubbled about crossed swords and white lions, the stuff you see ALL OVER TYRIA.

So, I asked to be allowed total control of the guild in order to change the cape as how I saw fit. The request was granted and I remade the cape( I particularly have different taste than both leaders,so I never wore the cape unless it was PvP). Now most of the guild loves it, save the 2nd leader.I would not be surprised to find it changed as soon as he becomes leader for the week approaching.It would disappoint me,but not surprise me.Anyway,its a good idea, but in the end, it may be a waste of programming time.
