Question about AI?

What is the best way to get all of my heroes/henchman/minnions to attack 1 target? I end up on some fights fighting the healers alone and taking forever to kill stuff. Even if I hit space and attack it, or sometimes even cntrl space and it says "Name is attacking *target*" they sometimes will go and sometimes will not.

If the cntrl space is the best way, where can I change that to just "space" so it's eaasier? I cannot find "call target" or any such thing in the control options?

Any help is appreciated,
Thanks

CTRL+[space] or CTRL+[skill] is how you call a target and heroes set to guard will attack the called target. Henchies I'm not sure will follow a called target and minions have their own agenda altogether so you can't really call a target and get them to stick with it.

You can also lock heroes on a target. This can be a useful way to get for instance two heroes to spike one bad guy (a healer or something) that would usually stay back out of the fight but close enough to heal while you and minions and henchies take out closer targets. Or to get your heroes to join you in taking down a boss while the henchies and minions run around like chickens with their heads cut off soaking up the attention of other bad guys.

To lock heros on a target, open the hero control panel for each hero (the 1, 2, and 3 next to their names in the party list). On the left side of the hero control panel is a crosshairs target icon. Click on that and that hero will attack the same foe you are.

is there a way to change it to another button instead of control? It's just an annoying button press to hit control+space every mob.

Thanks Malganis, is it possible to bind that to a key?

Dont think its possible to bind 2 actions into 1 button unless you macro it.
And besides space is intenden as an action button to follow or target.
Wouldnt it be anoying to press space and get " im attacking-following target" all the time.
It would for me anyway

Calling usually works, which for me is Ctrl-T. You can also press ctrl and double click your target. About 90% of the time, they will follow.

Henchmen and heroes will generally follow your target, regardless of whether you ctl-space or just attack. They only look at what you're auto-attacking though, so if you use spells make sure to press space so you're also activating your attack. It doesn't matter if you hit, just the act of turning on auto attack is what triggers the AI (easy enough to test, just cast some 3s or 5s spell, and halfway through hit space to see the henchmen go).

In my experience, there is no difference between ctl-space and space if you keep attacking the same target. If you ctl-space, the AI will remember the target though, so you can swap to a different target yourself. It's easy enough to see the melee henchmen and heroes run back and forth between targets if you just swap which enemy you're hitting yourself.

Left to their own devices, they do gravitate towards killing the healers first, but the melee henchmen will usually pick whatever is nearest instead.

The keybind in question is all the way at the bottom of your F11 Control list: Targeting: Show Targets. You can assign multiple different keys to that keybind, if you find Ctrl+Space cumbersome. However, as noted, you can't natively assign calling targets to a single keybind. It has to be combined with an action key (spacebar) or click, otherwise all that bind does is show the names of enemies onscreen.

If you only play with heroes+henchmen and thus wouldn't risk annoying human party members, you could always wedge a folded pieced of paper in against your Control key to keep it held down and always call your targets. Or use a software to simulate such.
