hi i have a thread in the mixed section...yesterday i bumped it at 11.25pm UK time....its now midnight uk time so thats 24 and a half hours yet the forums saying this:-
You are not allowed to bump your own thread before the minimum allowed time has passed. Please wait , 26 Minute(s), 41 Second(s) before attempting to reply to your own thread
im assuming its due to our timezones being moved back an hour here in the uk in october..
anychance of a fix?
thanks Axe

From what I recall, that particular addon is a bit bugged but still works well enough to keep around. Sometimes it adds an extra hour, sometimes it allows you to post before the 24 hours is up. Always make sure you check before bumping in case of the latter.
I'll take a look at the addon and see if there is anything that can be done. Thanks.

There's another recent thread about this (and a couple older ones) - feel free to use search for your questions, first .
It's a known issue that this Early Bump modification has. The specific issue the OP is referring to is one with Daylight Savings Time. Half the year you only have to wait 23 hours, while the other half of the year you have to wait 25 hours. The way VB and the modification work make it difficult to specify 24 hours, as it code relies on other factors (if someone knows of a fix, enlighten me! ).
The other "issue" with the modification is that it wasn't necessarily designed for this specific use. The modification was designed to prevent a person bumping their thread for ~24 hours unless someone else has replied, at which point they are free to bump at any time. So, this means that the modification only prevents some early bumps in Ventari's - only if no one has bid since the last bump. This is why posters are still responsible for checking the times of their bumps - it's not hard to check a time stamp and figure out if 24 hours have passed, so people have never been excused on these grounds.
I know the 25 hour thing is a little frustrating, and I do empathize with you guys. However, the job of a Ventari's moderator is a tough one, and it has made a drastic impact on reducing the number of early bump violations. I'm grateful to everyone for their continued patience and willingness to contribute to the section <3.
