The War in Kryta "quest"

I'm not sure if anyone else has an issue with this, but I find it kind of pointless that the "War in Kryta" quest obtained from Murro is not able to be abandoned. And, in my opinion the "quest line" makes for a lot of run here, talk to this person, zone, run back to the spot before...not any less confusing than it was before. Not that I had any problems when I went thru. And from what I gather would require the person to do Keiran's scavenger hunt. I'm trying to help my daughter thru the quest line, but makes it a rather lengthy process instead of just running out to the camp, zoning in tears a few times and watching the trial....I mean really? What was hard or confusing about that, and how does this quest arc help people who want to do this on multiple characters?
Also it gives you a quest for the Asura and for the Ebon Vanguard, yet you cant do the Ebon Vanguard quest if you've done Wintersday Cheer...because they are the SAME quest. So are you stuck? Can you not continue??

So I guess to make a long story short...This is both a question and suggestion. Why can't I abandon this and go about it my own way? And shouldn't I be able to?
My appologies if this would be considered more of a Q&A section, but I would also like it to be implemented that you can abandon the quest.

And then there is me who has two characters hung. One talked to Murro, one did not; but each can only do the daily quests. The Ebon Vanguard quest is locked out for them.

Two other characters entered the old way before the patch on the 19th and they are fine.

This will all get sorted out in a week or two or three.

it might not be that your locked out it might be that you just didn't do one small thing that caused the whole thing to pause until you find what you missed

Thanks Snowman. I will check. Both paused characters have completed Prophecies and Eye of the North.

My operational characters, same, but when they went into the Keep for the first time there was a bunch of quests on the Board for them with the daily quest being given last.

My paused characters went in after the patch on the 19th but found only the daily quest. Ok, aha! Just looked again and they are missing something! They have not got Ebon Vanguard Allies checked off!

Neither one can get the quest A Good Deed. Neither has done the Wintersday Cheer quest. Both have done The Missing Vanguard as part of the main quest line for completing EoTN and both have the reward tapestry hung.

Both have listened to all the Gwen and Thackeray dialogues. But Thackeray outside in Ice Cliff Chasms has no quest for me. This appears to be the sticky point.

I concede I must be doing something wrong. I just cannot figure out what it might be.

This is where my daughter is stuck too. I don't think its anything we're doing wrong, but I would like to see if anyone else is having this issue as well so it could be reported as a potential bug?

Hey, I think I got something at least similar to yours problem...I started Thackeray Scavenger Hunt before I took WiK main quest and started doing it. Than I finished Asuran Allies, and gave Thackeray remaining items, but WiK quest did not update,there was no conversation in HoM, and Evennia won't spawn for me...Thackeray is still standing outside EotN, and I listened to the Evennia with my friend as a party leader. After that, I went to the LA Keep, finished Ebon Vanguard Allies(again with my friend), and now quest log says that I have to take 3 Wanted bounties, but I can't, there is just daily one.

I think it's because I "skipped" Thackeray, because he didnt want to proceed, after I gave him all items. It's safe to say that Lt. Thackeray is...bugged

Check my last post in the WIK Bug thread in the bug forums. We finally got me unstuck in the WIK questline and the solution wasn't even remotely obvious.

That's because the scavenger hunt counts also as that quest, so if you made the Wintersday quests it got a bit messy.

I think that's fixed now.

Hey, I'm having the excact same problem, I cant start the quest.

Did any1 found a solution yet?

for the record, yes i completed all and i didnt do wintersday cheer

edit: Lol, wht linksys said worked... just walk up and about and the quest gets "done"
