If this was a new, unopened copy of the game, contact support.
wesleysummers
i tried that... they said they couldnt help...idk what to do...but im willing to trade
Anakita Snakecharm
I'm confused-- if you saw it was the wrong game, why did you open the box?
Or do you mean you opened the shipping box, but the game box is still sealed?
If the game box itself is still sealed in the plastic, you should be able to return it to wherever you bought it from. Just tell the retailer that the game sent doesn't match your invoice.

i mean i ordered the key lol sorry ^^ i opened the email and it was prophesies..... i didnt get it from nc soft but i had them check the key its valid
Lania Elderfire
You ordered just the key? From where? If you bought just the key from anywhere else other than NCsoft they wouldn't help you, and other people won't trust you. Besides, keys just by themselves are non-transferable unless if it was still sealed in it's original box unopened. If the number is exposed out in the open, you can't sell it or give it away without violating section 3 of the EULA.
Voodoo Rage
First of all, life is all about this kind of thing happening over and over again, so you just shrug your shoulders and move on. Last year I bought a brand new 58" plasma television and my four year old cracked it in the first week. Oh well, you gotta just roll with it.
Secondly, you now have a 2nd account which you can use to for storage. Not a bad deal.
Trying to deal with trading someone is probably just going to end up with you getting ripped off.

Also, no offense, but your story has changed a lot from your first post. Saying you opened the "box" when you meant opened the "e-mail" is a pretty big error.
It would be a very very bad idea for anyone to trade keys with you. It's skirting the rules at best, and you could both lose your accounts, even if both sides are on the up and up, and either side of such a trade could be a scam.
If you're telling the truth, I think you just need to let this be a learning experience, take the loss, and buy from a reputable merchant next time.

There is a REASON why sites like offgamers that sells account keys are based in china or hong kong where intellectual property laws are loose.

Sorry, I call bull.
If you mean the third-party site, do you not see how shady that is?
wesleysummers
it is i ordered from them before it was just a mix up on their part
wesleysummers
i didnt say they accepted it >.> i said i had them check if the key was unused... sorry for posting here please do not flame me also it was the other site not nc soft buddy
Lania Elderfire
We're not flaming you, but don't expect us to help you for ordering from illegal sites based in China or Hong Kong.
Anakita Snakecharm
I don't intend to flame you, but the thing is, either you got scammed or you're trying to scam someone else into trading with you. If it's the former, I feel bad for you, but your story keeps changing and that makes me wary of you.
The site you bought the key from is not legit. Only NC Soft/ArenaNet sell keys. Other legitimate retailers sell boxed products, not keys.
Please stop doing business with this third party site. Doesn't matter if you've used them before; it's still not legit. Either buy your Nightfall key from NC Soft or buy the box, and then you won't have to worry about stuff like this happening.

Moral of the story... if it looks too good to be true, then it probably is. Before ordering from any site, I'd check where the domain is registered using things like domain tools. If it's in China, Hong Kong, Russia, or any other country where intellectual property laws and enforcement is loose, I'd stay away from it.

another soul saved from the grips of loose property laws

I'm surprised others haven't posted saying that if it's a legit key, link it to another email and have a mule account for storage........
Stolen Souls
If what you're saying is true then you have my sympathy. Just take it as a lesson learned. :/ However, there is something that strikes me as just a BIT suspicious:
First you say this:
then you say this:
I find it a bit suspicious, odd and difficult to make a mistake like that. How do you confuse getting an email and opening a box? >.>
Other than that yeah, like everyone else already stated, just avoid buying from sites like that.

Are you sure that there is no cd key in the box (check again if you still have it).
It may be on the back on a credit card piece of plastic, you will have to remove some of that scratch off security material to see it.
Or it could be in side a little bit of paper that you have to tear at the perferated edges.

nah its not there the shipping stuff says "cd key not included" well at least i got it for free
Raven Wing
If CD key is not included then you have been cheated. Its like ordering a car and then they send a truck to dump it off in front of your house and it turns out to have no engine or wheels.
It's tought luck, but what you bought from points2shop is worthless and useless.

gremlin
Its fairly common "or was" on ebay to buy games from traders and they offer to just send the cd unboxed to save postage.
I did this a few years ago trader was in America game arrived a week later from Hong Kong.
Worked perfectly and didn't appear to be a fake, I am guessing that the genuine disk production has been outsourced to the far east and they turn out extra copies for more profit.
It would seem that companies are now saving even more postage by just emailing the key for some games, they probably do it for wow too.
If this GW key works then it would seem that they need to think again about which companies they give access to the code generator software.

Nyta
So, you ordered it from one site, but when it came without a cd key, instead of contacting that site about it, you ordered it again from another unnamed site, which just sent you a key for Prophecies. You did contact that site about it, but they won't give you the Nightfall key unless they sell the Prophecies key that they sold you earlier to someone else.
That part sounds completely illegitimate to me since the key is something that you need to recover account info if you ever lose it. So, it's not something a legitimate company can just show to people and then sell it to someone else.
Even if you got a Nightfall key from them, I wouldn't suggest using it. Who knows how many people they've already shown that key to? Your account wouldn't be safe.
You should probably just ask that site for your money back and maybe mention them to NCsoft support because of how they're handling those keys. I'm not sure if NCsoft can or will do anything about that site, though.

Worst case, these account keys are from stolen game accounts. I wouldn't use the access keys either.

anyways, I have actually a handful of accoutns bought from gold selling sites cause lets be honest. It benefits them to have more people playing. While their customer service sucks normally they do tend to be cheap. The thing is many won't later use it against you or purposely give you the wrong key as your a prospective future customer and the mere fact that your buying the key from them shows they are legit so your more likely to use them in the future, thus, just plain making it good buisness to get the accounts right. I actually did have one get eff'ed up it was supposed to be a factions key and it was a proph key and I emailed them and they responded by giving me a trilogy key which meh I wasn't gonna argue with. Some of these accounts go back 4 years and I have yet to have an issue with any of them.
