Canthan New Year 2011-the districts

I know this was done last year, which I found pretty helpful.

Basically, if you, your guild or whoever are planning to host a district, please post the following details below:

*District with country (e.g. American 12 not just district 12)
*Name of host/guild
*Whether you will be covering each finale
*Whether others are welcome
*Anything else you feel appropriate

*I'm not actually hosting a district, but I hope this should help people plan around others without filling the forum with hundreds of different threads. If you plan on hosting a district, please read the others to make sure no clashes occur!
*Also, if you hear of anyone else who plans to host certain districts on the day, but who have posted elsewhere, please inform me so i can add them to the list.
*This list is not an official list of guilds, alliances and people running districts. These are the districts the people intend on being present in so they can run the event.

A few other points worth reading:
*Chinese new year is February 3rd (year of the rabbit), so that weekend (Fri 4th-sun 6th) will probably host the Canthan New Year. I cannot guarantee this date-just a prediction

I believe that people are waiting on the date to actually be released so that they can plan on whether they will be there that day. I think the speculation is that it will be on February 5th/6th weekend?

If you look on our separate thread, we have only posted that we are hosting Districts 1-4 and 1-4 in Chinese/Japanese. We have extra ingredients for both District 5...but there will be no extra goodies given out over the 24 hours in those districts.

Some people were confused, I figured I would clear that up now

I've got you down as European English 1 on the OP, I have no idea who plans to take over american district 1.

pzl keep it that way lol, difficult for farming the ingredients. in fact ive even thrown up an UNID gold reward thread for those whom help me farm the mats. just view my threads ive posted...involving celestial weapons

this is probably correct, my alliance will host a district but they just want to be sure we got the manpower to do it.

I have a question lol: How can you set the districts off like this, when obviously the guilds don't own the districts? I mean, doesn't this kind of collash with the people who have guilds and DON'T USE GURU?

Complete guilds that have not heard of been to Guru? Not too many around I think. Besides the sponsoring is every year and word gets around quite fast.

My guildleader is obsessed with cny and has made us farm unctous remains, ancient kappa shells and whatnot, he has more than 100 full sets for the chefs.
In return ill make him post where we plan to host.

It is a non problem. If people want to afk they can look here and see which districts are hosted it's a SERVICE.

If a guild who has not posted here goes to a hosted district its not a problem, both guilds can run the items but it is a waste because another district could have been covered. Also if a guild wants to host their own district they can end up zoning a lot and miss the start trying to find an empty district.

So this thread is helpful information, not an attempt to keep other people out.

Most guilds are there early claiming a district, so another guild will have lots of time to shift to an un-hosted one. It's never been a big problem in the past. Sometimes guilds do districts jointly so they can have enough manpower.

I can't remember who answered this before, but I would like to echo their response. I wanted to help inform people which guilds were planning to "run" which districts over the event. Yes, the guilds do not own the districts, but I wanted to prevent fights during the event over who is apparently "running the district". I hope it is allowing other guilds to chose districts that aren't being used by others, so there isnt a fight to see who can get the ingredients to the chefs first. I understand ot every guild who plans to "host" a district is on Guru, but I wanted to reduce fighting as much as possible, using guru.

Probably a stupid noob question, but why would there be fights over who gets to the chefs first? Doesn't everyone who hands in an ingredient (before they move on at least) get a token?

It's the perceived prestige of hosting a district, so that everyone who does the finale there can be assured of getting the top prizes. Guilds will tell friends, allies, complete strangers to come to District X on XX server. Then they arrive and another guild did the same thing, which is a waste in a way, as each district has a max population allowance and another district will not win due to a shortage of items.

I say anyone because last year we had an awful problem with some Irish alliance in a euro polish district who in their own words 'only wanted their own alliance in the district', and ragespammed us to move on.. which we did not. Yeah good luck with that again guys - public game and all that. The Polish didnt like them much...

Nekodesu - what you will find is 2 things happen every cny.
1. players who enter a dist will ask if district is sponsered
2. players entering will also ask if its started yet
Usually they will get replies easily in the dist saying the answers - so non guru players will find out easily who is where etc
