I'm sure we've all seen or at least know that charmable animals can sometimes have their name switched for an enemy in the area.
My question is, does the animal keep that name if you charm it? And if it does, can it keep the name for as long as you don't /namepet it? Has anyone even bothered trying to capture a bugged pet?
My main reason is I would like to roll into RA with my pet build and have a pet with a creature name. I once saw a black bear in Thunderhead Keep who's name got switched with Argyris the Scoundrel, and having a pet with a boss's name would be epic.
Do bugged pets keep their name?

How about /namepet Argyris the Scoundrel?
SpyderArachnid
Snograt
I've only ever seen it the other way around - a regular enemy with the name of a charmable animal.

same for me and i doubt i could have charmed that jungle troll named warthog
How about the moa / strider? Doesen't a charmed strider in pre searing change its name to moa? Or at least if you name him something different and then just type "/namepet" I do not remember anymore That was 5 years ago...

It's less noticed because people breeze over those tameable non agreesive animals like they don't exist. But when you see one the other always exists in an area. Like if you see an afflicted rit in the area named tiger there will be somewhere in the area a tiger named afflicted rit...

^while farming totem axes a few months ago I found a Warthog named Root Behemoth. Would have tamed but I already had a pet with me. Still...not as cool as that bear with the boss name
