If you are not interested in reading this information, skip to the second paragraph. If you a further not interested, I have provided a TL;DR at the bottom.

Hey everyone. So I'm a long time GW player. I've been playing for the better part of almost 5 years, on and off. I've played before Factions was released, and I played back when Sorrow's Furnace was ran constantly by 5 map B/P Teams. I've seen a lot. I haven't been in the "end-game area" since UWSC was nerfed from Shadow Form. (The more recent nerf, not the 33%) I want to bring a character to DoA status, because I haven't had much experience there, and I'd like to.

Now here's my problem. What should I bring? I haven't been active enough to find a guild for anything. I have one of every class at 20, with a few various classes in DoA. I was thinking my Paragon, but she's a survivor at 300k exp. I could probably manage legendary before I hit DoA, but is it worth taking her into the world? I don't know what's "Wanted" per-se. I know what the teams consist of, but what would be my best class to bring to a PuG? I have a monk, but I haven't monked in DoA since like 06 or 07, forget when it came out.

If you have any questions or anything, feel free to ask.

TL;DR - What character should I use for mainly DoA pugging?

Rit, Monk, and Paragon can get groups via Glaiveway, although any profession can run the DWG build (probably won't be as easy to get a pug group w/o rit primary though).

I'm kinda feeling Paragon, I can kill two birds with one stone by finally finishing Legendary Survivor. Are Paras in "Need" for DoA? Or is there an excessive amount of them? Are they (Imbas) easy to use? (I haven't really played with a Paragon at all, now that I think about it) Like I said, I haven't done DoA since like 06 or 07, or something so, yeah..

Lol, pugging trenchway, good luck with that. Exception i guess is if you're german, but those "pugs" all know each other and if you dont know them, you dont go.

Would Ritualist be a better option? My Rit is considerably farther in the campaign, but still a ways away. The only thing would be I can't finish my Eternal Survivor monument, but eh.

I just want a class I can get into a few pugs with, and possibly make some friends so I can get into FL groups, like I used to for UWSC, and 5 man Sorrow's. Once I get some people willing to take me, I'll be set to go, y'know?

The first thing you should get there is your rit. Engage in some NM Glaiveway runs to get the lay of the land and max your rank.

Having a rit means in NM you can DwG and SoS and in HM when you have some exp you can DwG and ST. This means you can do 2 roles in each area.

Monks are very common in DoA in my opinion so unless your fixed on monking id look at another proffession.

Imba's are usually always sought after however they are expected to be able to do it

If you are more experienced in DoA and are looking for SC then you are looking at joining a SC guild/ally that does casterspike single tank or trenchtank ^^ in which case Mesmer/Monk/Ele or assasin
