Okay, so as you can see I am new to Guild Wars. I started a few characters not really understanding the importance of a proper build until i finally decided to base my build off of a successful one i found on another website
the link:

http://pvx.wikia.com/wiki/Build:R/A_Assault_Ranger

alright now the character i made was made in factions, he is currently level 15, so i have a few questions about that:
1) when am i in "main game"
2) him being a PvE character, will he still be able to aquire skills from nightfall, being that he is from factions
3) will he be able to get armor from nightfall being that he is from factions?
4) as a PvE character, will he be able to get a defensive set/zealous daggers, or are those strictly for PvP characters?
5) if no to the above question will i find armor smiths in other citys as a travel through "main game" that can supply me with good enough armor (when i hit level 20)

those are all my questions
answers would be much appreciated=}
thank you!

1. As soon as you log in. I assume you are asking because of "pre-searing", but that is prophecies only.
2. Yes. Just need to travel to the nightfall side. Wiki can give you the quest you need.
3. Yes. Same as 2.
4. Yes. Just have to loot/buy them.
5. N/A since the answer is yes. But yes, you will find armor throughout your travels. Make sure to read up on the armors to find what you want. Many have different looks.

The main story for Factions picks up on the mainland of the Canthan continent. Once you leave Shing Jea Island you will be on the main land.

yes, after you reach Kaineng Center (on the mainland, just a 1 minute walk from The Marketplace which is the first town on the mainland) you can get a quest to travel to the other campaigns...provided you own them.

see above

all weapons and mods are available in PvE. You just have to identify them on items and/or buy them. (Defensive sets are not widely used in PvE unless speed-clearing an elite area. they mainly comprise of a shield and a weapon with +5 armor)

Max armor is available as early as Kaineng Center.

The build you linked is a PvP build. You should probably consider looking at some more PvE focused builds while you're getting through the campaigns.

Use the new PvX wiki if you're looking for build templates - http://www.gwpvx.com/Main_Page

1) when am i in "main game"
In factions, once you hit the mainland after completing Zen Daijun.

2) him being a PvE character, will he still be able to aquire skills from nightfall, being that he is from factions
Yes, you simply have to complete the quests to travel to the different campaigns. The Faction's quests to travel to Nightfall/Prophecies/EotN begin in Kaineng Center. There will be a popup each time you zone in which directs you to the quest givers.

Skills are the most important part of GW. You should aim to be able to make several different builds for different situations and to keep the character interesting.

3) will he be able to get armor from nightfall being that he is from factions?
Yes, same deal as skills. Do the quests to travel between campaigns and then progress the storyline, you'll find armor crafters a long the way.

4) as a PvE character, will he be able to get a defensive set/zealous daggers, or are those strictly for PvP characters?
You can get all the items available to the a PvP character on a PvE character. You can get weapons from collectors, crafters, drops or buy them from other players. To get perfect weapons, chances are you will have to trade with another player to either buy the weapon itself or the mods to go on it.

5) will i find armor smiths in other citys as a travel through "main game" that can supply me with good enough armor (when i hit level 20)
The first max armor crafters for Factions are in Kaineng Center, after that you'll find various crafters throughout the campaign(s) which offer to craft armor with the same stats which simply has a different appearance. Armor is essentially chosen for which you think looks best (you can check out all of the various styles on the wiki - http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Main_Page).

Yup, that's GW's armor system. Primeval won't be better than any max level armor, but if you like the looks, go for it!

As ppl have stated already, max lvl armor is all about looks. What matters is what runes and insignias you put on it. You can read more about that on wiki

You're lucky, too, because you're playing a ranger. Ranger armor often has a sweet "trenchcoat" look built into it. Very stylish!

Yep. Craftable (Oroku in the southeast of Bukdek Byway) Krytan armor is excellent for that Badass Longcoat look on the cheap.

Every character has to pay the Xunlai agent NPC (50g if memory serves) to open the storage account the first time. But all characters share the same storage.

Each character will have to pay the 50g fee to access the chest. Same for the crafting materials storage upgrade.

i couldnt find out from the wiki...
You are correct. 'Max armor' refers to armor with the maximum armor level for that profession. This is 80 for Warriors and Paragons, 70 for Rangers, Assassins, and Dervishes, and 60 for the rest (the soft caster professions).

PS: The edit button isn't there to look good.
