Hi everybody. I'm Felix Omni, bureaucrat of GuildWiki, the unofficial Guild Wars wiki. Our site is no longer hosted by wikia; as of today we are hosted by Curse. The new URL is http://www.guildwiki.org.
Just like with PvX Wiki, you can reclaim your old account by using the User Migration Tool. Preferences do not carry over from wikia, so be sure to set them before editing. I hope to see a lot of new faces!

yeah I got my email today, but am unable to follow step 2 of the special migration steps (no "Suggestion: Use this edit to add the {{User gw.org}} userbox." on any page with my user name).....
and it wont let me create a new account either....oh well

update....tried this about oh, a couple of dozen times...switched to chrome a few more tries (changing the text on the edit page to make sure it took......) and FINALLY it will let me sign in

I've been waiting for this ever since Wikia started using that annoying new layout and PvX made the jump. Happy to see it was so quick!
I love to use both wikis, as they usually provide a slightly different spin on a given topic, and GuildWiki often has articles the official one doesn't. Also, the GuildWiki armor galleries are way better. Very valuable resource!
I'll have to update my bookmarks and keymarks.

Glad to see the new site up and running.
I've always hated wikia sites, not the content; just the way they are all always so ugly or tacky. They needlessly clutter up every single page. That current WoW background and banner looks really bad with some of the other wikia's.

Here's a handful of responses.
We think some of the problems migrating user accounts are caused by people not realizing they need to log into wikia before posting the edit summary code. We clarified that on the UserMigration page.
PvXWiki will probably continue to get their skill data from GWW- the skills there are updated faster after a game patch anyway. We may collaborate on other projects soon, though!
GuildWiki and PvX are not owned by Curse- they are graciously hosting us. We will be working closely with Curse staff, particularly now in the beginning, but we will continue to administrate ourselves as we always have.

Wikia decided to change the default format, they have ZILLIONS of ads, and other garbage, links everywhere to things that have nothing to do with the wiki itself.

Ah! I'm actually pretty surprised to see it's still active; I figured once the official one got going, the original would've died off. Kinda nice to see it's still going. ;D Good luck with it, guys.

It was more than just the mandatory skin and adspace out the wazoo- we weren't getting the service from Wikia that they promised when Gravewit sold them the gamewikis domains years ago. Wikia also feels that as long as you edit on a Wikia wiki, you're working for them.

I just grew to love my adblocker a bit more now.
