As the end of another month approaches, so does our coverage of the GvG Monthly Automated Tournament. Once again, we will be providing commentary for the playoff matches. This will be a great opportunity for new and prospective PvPers to learn how GvG works and have their questions answered by top players, including this month's commentators - Asp from Rebel Rising [rawr], returning from last month, and Ensign, leader of Idiot Savants [iQ] and Dark Alley [dR].

The program will begin at the same time as the playoffs, on December 18th at 11:40 PST.

This month, we'll be trying out a new form of commentary (reference) - we will be streaming our cameraman Apok's audio and video feed via Guild Wars Guru's Justin.tv channel. Open the link at any time during the event and you'll be tuning in without any further work on your part.

If you are unable to come or miss parts of this event, the entirety is being recorded for your convenience and a link will be provided once available.

For those interested in seeing an example of what you'll be seeing, recordings of last month's commentary is available in Apok's channel at YouTube.

You know, I don't PvP (except the occasional FA/JQ), but I do watch and enjoy these commentaries. Top work!

Hopefully our livestream will hold up with all the expected traffic, looked awesome in testing though.

Pretty big surprise that Ensign will be joining the commentary.

On a side note, I am sad to announce that YouTube has decided to not allow me to upload longer videos. I don't know if I have to wait a bit or post more vids, but it would've made the editting process a LOT easier...

Ah well.

There are other places to upload besides YouTube

Anyhow. I think I'll have to let this one pass. Got something planned for that evening. I really appreciate the effort you're putting into it though.

Wow, cannot wait. Will be nice to hear Ensign on the commentary. Should be well good... he has been more online the last while or so.

Also, great work, guys! Cannot wait for the new feeds and stuff! Just hope I will have good internet, since I am not AM local ...

Good to see all this efforts still goes unanwsered by Anet.

I'm all in for these events to get more people into PvP, but the truth is the ball is in Anet's court.

With GvG still being very uncompetitive, skills still being really imbalanced (altough major improvements have been made in the last 3 updates, props) and in general there simply not being any community (You pretty much got the same people farming the same people over and over again) anyone slightly interested in competitive coverage (Read: Starcraft matches, shooters, etc) will get bored very fast.

But good luck, I hope you sort this youtube stuff out. I would be lying if I said I didn't browse through your vids every now and then. (@ Apok)

Was able to watch the recordings, and I was very pleased with the result. I wasn't able to make it live so I can't comment on that, but it was a very well done recording and was a pleasant watch.

I prefered mumble tbh. The livestream had lags and bad quality. I managed to make it somewhat better for myself by observing the game myself at the same time u guys did. and just using the livestream for the great commentary.

also not alot of people were watching coz of wintersday eheh.

You should allow a live audience on mumble/vent in addition to the live stream.

We will certainly consider this because of the fact so many people liked the mumble

Great work as always everyone!

Unfortunately, now that I actually have the free time to watch the recording, I can only seem to find 1 video from the MAT. I could swear when I looked earlier there were at least a half dozen, however... Specifically I can only watch the 70 minute video that contains the VR/Mojo semifinal, and then the final match.

I'm I just imagining that there were more videos available at some point? If there are commentaries for other matches, will they be available either on the Justin.tv channel or on Youtube at some point?

Thanks again for all the work, and I look forward to the January MAT which I can hopefully watch live!

I'm fairly certain the videos go down after 1 week and are stored in the database.

We will get them back up ASAP.
