OK, here's the situation... I'm now seeing that faction appears to be per account, not per character. I say this because my new ranger has the same faction ratings as my ritualist, caps, values, etc. (which has it's advantages..)

Anyways, my ranger just picked up a quest to map the jade sea for 500 lux, however, my faction has a cap of 20,000 and it's max'ed. Since my ranger is fairly new, I know of no way to spend faction, so I assume I need to log in my rit and spend the faction down below my max in order for my ranger to obtain the 500 from the quest.... does any of this make sense ??? I'm not use to all this thinking, I normally just kill stuff

Thanks!

Yes, faction is shared across all your characters on an account.

You can spend the faction on your ritualist and your account's faction will go down, allowing you to gain more on your other characters.
However, if you already finished the quest and accepted the reward while at your cap, you will not be reimbursed the 500 faction.

In addition to what RedDog said, it doesn't really matter that your ranger is new. If he can reach a Luxon Scavenger (in Cavalon, for example), he can spend the faction just as easily as your rit can. Any character on your account can spend that faction and the points will be added to the account-wide Friend of the Luxons title.

I would suggest reserving 10k of your 20k, if your ranger has not yet done Befriending the Luxons. Your ranger will be able to take that quest as soon as you reach Cavalon and complete it immediately if you already have 10k unspent Luxon faction. That gives you the choice of continuing on with the storyline at any time instead of being forced to wait until you have obtained another 10k.

Yup! Log on your rit, and go to Cavalon (or Fort Aspenwood or Jade Quarry) and spend some Faction!

On the other hand... your guild hall probably has a Luxon Scavenger NPC. Just take your ranger to your guild hall and spend some faction there.

Thanks. I like the fact that it's per account, this means my ranger will also be adding to my over all faction so my rit can get her luxon spell that much sooner. My ranger hasn't progressed far enough to get to a npc to spend it, so my rit will have to. I wish they had better things to spend it on... I've been spending it on jade simply because it seemed the best choice for me. Don't belong to a guild, maybe thats something to consider....

If you want to get that Rit skill, you definitely want to join a Luxon guild. Contributing faction to a guild will double the contribution to your Luxon title, which means you need to get only half as much faction to get it. The downside is that you can't spend it on jade so there's a little bit of lost revenue. Guild Halls also have people you can spend faction in so you'll be able to spend it on your Ranger too.
