people paid a good bit for CCs to get gifts which they could resell
and now the price of gifts will plummet and CCs are worthless

Those that use gifts can get more.
Those that sell the gifts get less cash.
Since they are meant to be used, that enforces the original purpose.
Like the ToT farming, it's better to get them yourself!
