3 Paragon Heroes - Possibilities?
nuclear_herring
Hi there,
Having just found out about the new hero we've been gifted with i was wondering if there is likely to be any 3 or 4 paragon team builds turning up. I play / have played my paragon for a while and wonder if there is any mileage in all-para teams or whether I'm just going to get buried in sab / discord / DwG fanboydom (new word? Not sure)
Let me know what you think.

Personally I think not many people will use the three paragon heroes because there are superior options.
However,
It might give the old racway a reason to see play again.
and 2 para's+hero's can run full paragon teams similar to the all-paragon fow build ( Singers of Woe).
My paragon will be toying around with it, if only because it would be hilarious seeing all the shout quotes flying across the screen.

If you're looking for some builds you could run with your para horoes, look up doa paraway on youtube. A german guild has made para only team builds for just about any elite area.
They have some verry creative ideas for para builds.

Paras have plenty of defense options and you can pass hardmode with crazy builds using them. The main downside is their offense and thus can be slow.
As for racway, really need 7 heroes so you don't have to pick dropping the orders spammer.

Basically gives you a Manlygon instead of Morgahn. If Motivation was buffed heavily, a third Paragon might be beneficial. As is, you can fit all or most of the useful Paragon skills on two folks, and they're not necessary for party survival at that.
Still, Paras are pretty neat and versatile, so 3 Para teams might show up, especially when 7 heroes comes out. I'd say the best use of 3 Paras would be a Command buffer, a Motivation cleaner, and a defensive buffer with Echoes like Bladeturn and Mending Refrain and good ole' Stand Your Ground kind of buffs.

make one a searing flames spammer

they can get nrg from spamming adr shouts, then use SF to burnz up stuff, the use tof and junk
Skyy High
The best part of SF is that it's a single high-damage AoE spell that you can spam like crazy. If you're spamming it, you're not attacking, which means you're not getting adrenaline to spam shouts and get back energy, plus a para hero can't benefit from runes and has half the energy regen of an ele....in short, there's no good reason to use SF as a para, when you could do it much better with an ele hero.
Me, I just like stacking echos and refrains like crazy. The heroes do a better job of keeping them up on everyone than a player could.

Actually, there was an old paragon SF build that was posted on here awhile back. I don't remember the exact skills it used for energy management, but I know that it was able to spam SF just as often as an ele would be able to. There are plenty of options for energy management, so I definitely think this would be a fun possibility. Iv got to find that builds... cause Iv been meaning to try it out.

Is this the build you're thinking of?

First of all, I don't think having 3 paragon heroes will really do you too much good unless you're a paragon yourself, or any melee class that can easily/quickly gain sufficient adreneline for SY.
To me, it seems that paragons seem to work very well together, and having a full team of them can be much more effective than a half team, and the other half being balanced. I'm not sure where I'm going with this..... but basically I think nobody will benefit from having a third paragon hero too much unless they utilize that to make a team of 8 paragons.

uh, half teams of paragons work just fine. Iv done many VQs with Morgahn and Hayda and I look forward to incorporating Thackeray into my team.

I never said they don't work, just that in most cases, teams of full paragons seem to work better than teams with only a few paragons. Shouts and chants that are often used in multi-para teams typically have longer recharge times, and end rather quickly, so having multiple people use them repeatedly can be more effective (such as ballad of restoration). I'm not saying that having 2 or 3 paras in a team is a bad thing, it's just that paras seem (to me) to be one of those gimmicky classes with skills that work better when used often by many players.

The only place I can use a third Paragon right now is on my Imbagon. The major downside to the Motivation line is the long recharge of skills. But, Two Motivation and a Command Paragon can provide a surprising amount of defensive support with all the shouts beign used. But your giving up alot of damage to do so. My Imba would probably roll through content faster with Necros, Rts, and Mesmers, but having 4 Paragons in a team is too much fun to pass up.
Even with 7 heros I can only justify bringing one Paragon on my other physical damage professions. And most of those skills would be from the Command/Leadership line.
Looking even further down the line, when Paragons get thier own update. If Motivation becomes more effective and damage buffs(similar to Splinter Weapon or Orders) were added, I could see them becoming much more popular. But untill that happens I dont see 3 Para heros becoming meta anytime soon.
