Best part of Wintersday so far?

What are you loving best about Wintersday so far?

Mine has to be being called a "complete and total buttface" by one of the kids in the White Mist quest when I killed his wannabe Freezie. I about died laughing. "He did NOT just say that?!?!?!?!"

I love standing in LA and answering all the questions. Proof that once again, we have loads of new players around.

"WTS Globs of Frozen Ectoplasm, they thaw into 2 normal Globs of Ectoplasm 9k/ea."

Made my day. I didn't think people still tried that one because of all the Wiki warnings... Guess I was wrong...

EDIT: Not enjoying the lag, however. My ping is at 4-5x its normal value (it's usually about 100-200).

That is awesome. Festival items no longer feel like water to be rationed out in a desert but Christmas Turkey to be consumed as fast and as much as possible before your brother gets to it first. I'm enjoying them a lot more now.

Personally I like the involvement of Melandru and Balthazar in the event... it's nice to see the other gods get some love (and it's nice to see that Kormir isn't getting any bwuahahah) and while I don't really want to admit it, I like the Balthazar costume. The Balthazar one is a nice opportunity for my paragon to wear pants - yay!

Completely agreed. In past Wintersdays, I didn't have much incentive because the rewards were kinda piddly...I'd farm ectos and cash them in for festive drops instead.

Now if A.net could provide us physical therapy for the hundreds or thousands of clicks needed to open all those gifts, this would be the best GW holiday ever.

decided to try my luck at strength of snow. im finding it quite relaxing, which is pretty cool.

Definitely getting beaten in snowball fights by sync teams from NuDE and ball repeatedly, seriously this is beyond lame. It's far worse in RA since you can make up for people, in snowball arenas if you have one bad player you're screwed

Very easy to trick people with that because new players will believe it...
but would be much easier to trick people if you charged less and said something like "Oh I give people a discount cuz you have to <insert whatever here> to thaw them so charging full price isn't fair"


In retrospect...has anyone tried getting hit by the Iron Forgeman to try and thaw them?

The decorations are still my most favorite thing about Wintersday. And the Shiverpeaks music playing in LA/Kamadan is a nice change.

The 3k party points I from just a bit of SD.

Saw someone with "wtb antifreeze for MOX" in American LA yesterday. Maybe it's a bit naff, but I did lol a bit.

Yesterday I saw quite a few people ask how long until the next Dwayna&Grenth appearance cuz they wanted the new hats.
When I told them that it was another 3 weeks, they said they reported me for scamming. I lol'd

Somebody in this forum brought it up that the Germans seem to know more than we do. http://www.guildwiki.de/wiki/Wintertag_2010 has the hats already at the bottom of the page.

I think we might start seeing the Dwayne one a lot once it's out...
