My accounts email server is closing

So I made my account a while ago and I've been told that you cannot change the account username and that support will use that email to contact you.

Now this email provider is closing down its service...

So what can I do now? So far I'm contacting support and changing all the email contacts to my new email.

I just don't want to one day have anet try and contact me and have that email invalid.

If your not linked to a nc master account you can still change your email...

If you are linked....sucks to be you..support won't do it for you in most cases.

Well I sort of had to get the master account in order to get the free xunlai pane, and I'm going to assume that I'll need it in order to link to gw2.

I changed the contact email for the nc account so I'm assuming that anet will use that one now.

Do I need the email that I made the account on for anything anymore?

Not really needed although it can at times be useful when trying to recover a hacked account.

Since you have a master account, just change the email associated with the master account. After you link GW to a master account, it's impossible to change your GW email, but any emails related to GW will get to sent to your master account email, and the GW email only functions as a login username, nothing else. So even though your email is shutting down, you can still use the defunct email to log in to GW.

We often recommend to players to use a one-time email address to register a new account. If you don't use that email address for anything else then it is less likely to be a source for stealing your account.

As long as your Contact email is valid, you will not have any problems. ArenaNet will send any required correspondence to both addresses.
