Anyone else seen this don't know when it was posted or if its a bad joke.
Don't see anything on the guild wars website or when starting the game.
Permanent DeathsEdit Permanent Deaths sectionEdit
Due to server errors, players have reported deaths to lead to deletion of characters. Arenanet is working on the problem, but will not be able to fix it before Monday. Until a final solution is released, we recommend staying off those characters you treasure or enjoy playing, and instead make a Dervish.

Use the new site: www.guildwiki.org. The old site has been abandoned and is regularly vandalized.

That is not true, you have to make a monk.
It is a joke, it will get fixed eventually.

I can laugh at myself for falling for it and had it been April 1st a good joke to pull

It's not exactly true that the old site is being "vandalized" regularly (well, it is, like any wiki, but it quickly gets reverted). Instead, [email protected] is re-inventing itself, sloughing off the archaic restrictions imposed by the "encyclopedic" paradigm to become more of a community-generated site. What you noticed is one of the first fruits of this new direction, a set of user-created login announcements that anyone can add to, from which one is randomly selected to be displayed on the Main Page whenever someone visits the wiki. This is to replace the dry and predictable "official" announcements, which everyone has seen a thousand times by now and which are, frankly, not very interesting at all. Expect to see many more initiatives like this on [email protected] over the coming months.
In other words: yes, it's being vandalized, BUT it's vandalism of the community, by the community, and for the community, which means that Wikia can't do jack shit about it.

Not a problem if the 2 sites use totally different titles, anyway sounds like a fun project I hope it does well

Except that the announcements are totally bogus.
Unless I just caught it at a BAD time, that place has gone to hell REAL fast.
I think we would be better off if it was just nuked from orbit.

There's no such thing as vandalizing "for the community". This is just people being pricks because they feel slighted by the old host. I'm disappointed by such behaviour.

"We just cut off our own noses to spite our own faces! Take THAT, Wikia!" What a great plan. Any five-year-old would understand the logic. What's the next step? Stamp your feet and threaten to hold your breath?
