It's damn rare, it's a collectors item (obviously) and it's almost certainly worth a lot more than 10k. That's all I know about it though. I'm not going to hazard a guest as to the actual price because it would be a very wild guess.

There is no set price for it. Its obviously rare, but as you said completely useless and not exactly a popular collectors item. You may as well open sell thread and see what you get

Its rare, its useless, havent seen anyone wanting buy one since herb, who paid quite nicely for those in 2006'ish, Dont think thered be any itnrest for em now rly..

Very rare - just a handful of them exist.
Useless - obv.
Collector's item - yes, only that, but little demand for it.

10k was an obvious steal but it's not worth any astronomical amount unless you find someone crazy about it.

Hard to say where they came from, I've only remember a hypothesis it could have been a possible salvage out of an unidentified staff, but this may be completely wrong. It's just a fact they only came from the first few weeks after release. But nothing "beta" about it, no beta items exist.

Care to post a screenshot? I'm intrigued.
