Wintersday Finale Odd vs. Even

The system does seem to be failing this year. I just went through as many even districts as I could get on, and they were all Grenth. I had to move onto the European servers to find one with people going for the Dwayna one.

4 accounts AFK over night, only one district followed the odd/even tradition...time to move to Euro server :s

Heh. Not exactly much rebel spirit there if everyone is just doing the reverse. All they're doing is creating a new "system."

I know that going through a few districts it always zoned me onto Dwayna's side of the rings, so some of it may very well be people who zoned in, didn't bother to check, and immediately went AFK.

So far i've been in two odd districts (Kamadan ad1/ad5) and both times Dwayna won. THe third time i wasted 10 minutes serching for a Grenth district in Kamadan America but i failed. Appearently, except ad25, people in Kamadan are massively supporting Dwayna.

Went to Euro servers both Spamadan & LA, they're following tradition.

I came out of American 56 in LA with a Grenth hat an hour ago. Just sayin.

I was a little confused myself, when I woke up this morning, BUT not complaining. I put myself in LA even district to get a dwayna hat while I slept. Figured I'd have to move to get grenth when I woke up.

Apparently, grenth won at least once, and dwayna at least once as I have one of each hat. I'm not sure who won the 3rd event as I don't have a duplicate of either hat.

Although I prefer following the whole even is dwayna, grenth is odd, I'm not gonna gripe too much. Free gifts are free gifts.

Also, are they not giving out diplicate hats or did the district i'm in glitch out?

I'm going to guess no duplicate hats. LA AE25; afk'ed while I slept, 30 gifts, 1 hat, standing on Grenth side.

Ironic thing is, I'm not standing there for gifts. I'd farm more and faster during SD. I'm actually there for the few lucky/unlucky points :P

I get bored rather quickly farming SD and Crush, so this is icing on the cake for me, for gifts.

I "blame" a lot of new players and a persistant rumor that there was one hat for LA and another for Kamadan (i.e. it would not matter which side won, just which city you were in), kinda like how it works on Halloween. I have found that encouraging ppl to go to the right rings in local has worked out just fine, have not encountered any douchebaggery.

Got both my Dwayna and Grenth in a correct-numbered district first try no problem.

I just want say few things :
First off all i did 3 wintersday,and i always follow the odd-even system without problem,no sense try do something different...told this :
1)Tradition is Tradition, not a rule, ppl are not forced to do what the comunity said...there are a lot of districts,americans,europeans,asiatic,internationa ls, just change dist and you can get both hats in the first 2 events.
2)PPL that call idiots or insult other ppl are just childreens/immature, because no one is right, ppl are free to follow what they want tradition odd-even or not since is not a rule,follow this "system" just make thing easier.
3)Hate ppl that easy click report button,i hope a day they get what deserve.

Thats what i think...sorry if i saying this but i really bored of ppl that complain all year and they dont stop for wintersday/new year too,where all be supposed to be a little more "good".

Yes, spewing insults is no good. But some friendly reminding/explaining/encouragment goes a long way. After all, most people want to get both hats with as little hassle as possible.

Agree 100%, but use more diplomacy or just change dist, a lot of ppl do odd/even system...dont stay in a dist insulting or qq about it,that is what i saw today.

Or we could just encourage ArenaNet to add a festival hat collector for candy cane shards to give out the hats for two weeks following the events.

No more need for this redundant logging into GW with red eyed hangovers and a vomit bucket in your lap. No more kids getting dissapointed they couldn't get the hat because their family was on vacation for the week between christmas and new years.

There is no problem with players choosing whatever side they want to choose for the finales, after all the Dwayna vs Grenth thing is supposed to be a game. The problem is festival hats requiring attendance for a finale (which is quickly followed by a removal of the decoration leaving little to no time to wear the hat while doing festival activities) on a day when people are usually doing real life stuff.

Yeah, it's too much to ask for that you actually need to be there for a special event.

I had a bit of effort put out on my part to find a grenth district in kamadan---found a white block in one district (would put in a screenshot, but peeps would tell me its just my computer even though I was playing on 2 and got the same thing on both)....but took me about 6 or so odd districts to find a grenth one.....and then I had a bit of fun getting into a dwayna one in la ......

was easier when peeps followed traditions, really some of us old folks have harder times now

Everyone was standing on Grenth when I did it earlier... and Dwayna won. No idea how that happened...

Mmm...didn't notice any of this chaos, guess I got lucky, went to LA AD21 and Kamadan AD26 and got the hat I expected in both.

In LA you spawn closer to grenth so more districts seem to be grenth and in Kamadan you spawn closer to dwayna so more districts tend to be dwayna. Or at least that is how it was at 3am when I did it. So if you tried to do grenth in LA and dwayna in Kamadan, it would explain why it looked like there was no problem.
