i think they are better than a LOT of the old ones that were given. the halo is awesome, but the horns are too big on my female chars.

i think more so i dont like the halo because it has some clipping issues on a feew hair styles, but i do agree it beats the last couple of years.

The animations and the fact (at least the halo, don't know about the horns) the hats can be worn when you use tonics is pretty awesome, I think.

I haven't seen the horns yet, but the halo's cute. A bit too bright to wear too often, but still really cute.

Both horns and halo are awesome. Don't listen to the naysayers, this year's hats are well-designed and well-executed. Bravo Anet for once again going the extra mile on new free content.
I have to say though, it's stuff like this that makes me wish festival hats were going to be inherited by our GW2 account...

The new hats are a fun addition. I appreciate how they're a bit more of an accessory than a hat that only sees use during Wintersday.

It's a bonus that is not a necessity in any way, shape, or form. If anyone complains, they are stepping out of line already and forgetting that they didn't have to do anything or go out of their way to get the hats in the first place, as Arena Net didn't have to do anything or go out of their way to try and please the community.
I personally like them both. Horns seem a bit wonky on a monk that's like 4'8 though :P

1. I like that we get events and new hats at all. After this many years, of course the well is running a little dry.
2. The halo is pretty cute, and fits with the traditional holiday theme. I'm not sure how demon horns have anything to do with Wintersday, but I'm not all up on GW lore. They do seem to go with the Balthazar/Lich costumes, though. But I don't own any costumes. And none of my characters go in the big, mean, ugly direction, so these are kind of "meh." YMMV.
3. As a newer player, I do kind of long to have my own santa hat and wreath crown. But, well...*shrug*
Overall, no complaints. Grateful for goodies. Thumb's up.

Halo is average , horns are terrible. Those masks are better than haloween ones and last year ones , but still very far from masks such as lupine ,mummy, or even traditionnal christmas hat...

God forbid anyone in the Guild Wars community have an opinion or constructive criticism.
I would feel like garbage if every time I worked hard on something and released it to see what the community thought, all I got was "It's new free content! Don't complain!!!!!" Personally I think the bar is a little higher than that and I think it's insulting to the people on the Live Team every time people bang on about new free content (as if it's a given it's going to be shit or sub par simply because it's new and free). Banging on about "new free content" imo is more insulting that someone criticising the content itself, at least the critics believe you can produce good quality work, the "it's new free content" crowd are always lowering expectations simply because it's free.
Personally I like both hats. The horns don't seem to go with any of my toons at all - they are too big and I don't like the Lich costume, I tried them with Elite Charr Hide armour but the red glowing parts contrast too much with the brown.
I like the halo although it's kind of like an almost used up yellow life saver on minimum graphics settings. Someone in GtoB said it looks like a tiny ring of fairies peeing on your head which I can also see. Personally I'm going to use it on my paragon... I don't like the crests so it kind of complements the class better.
Personally I'm glad they are creating more festival hats which act as accessories allowing me to see my character's face and use them to create different looks. The old "full head hat" thing took away too much of your character's unique looks and I never liked hiding my face - I still use the Halloween ones. The shift towards more glowy stuff is also cool I guess.
Better than last years but not better than the spectercles. The spectercles are still the best hat ever and I don't even like steam punk. I just like hats that fit into the setting a bit better and mix well with armours already in the game.

Objectively quality wise, the Halo and Horns look good imo.
Much better then the 2D Snow Crystal Crest from last year (though i did like the 3D Ice Shard Crest).
Whether folks like them is more personal taste i am gonna say.
I also like them in that respect.

Horns are decent, reminds me of the baddie from the film 'Legend' and have wtb Destroyer Gauntlets written all over them. Not yet got the Halo, I ran to the circle with most people on without paying much attention, my own fault really
