A few Wintersday Finale questions...

The Wiki just isn't really clear on this... I understand the "every three hours" part, being when the festivities "start" in the various cities... but how long do those festivities last? Do you need to be in town right at 3, 6, 9, etc.? Do they only last a few minutes and then there's nothing until 3 hours have passed?

And from what I've gathered, to get the hats/vote for one god or the other, you have to stand on the circles "for" that god. How do you know which set of rings is for which god? And do you only get hats if you're standing in the rings?

Last... I thought I read that the rings are used as a game similar to Nine Rings. Read somewhere else that you needed to give shards to play. To whom do we give those shards, and when? How many are needed?

It's weird, but it really seems like there's very little specific information on the Wiki about the Finale itself. Maybe I'm just really looking in the wrong place... but... ?? It's my first Wintersday, and I am soooo confused. LOL

Hmmm... apparently someone has updated the Wiki in the last few hours. Suddenly the "Finale" section of the WD2010 page actually has information in it.

Now I feel silly. LOL

Red rings = Grenth, Green rings = Dwayna.

NORAMLLY it's been that even districts are where Dwayna will win and odd are for Grenth so people can obtain both hats. This year, a lot of people are screwing around with that on purpose so it's really a matter of just hoping for the best when you zone and asking guildies/allies where they are.

The shards are automatically taken/added to your inventory. It's one per round each event. I didn't exactly keep count of mine but I have 150 or so that I'm hoping will last my afking. Remember that you probably won't lose all of them.

The events are about 10-15 mins long, they are staggered slightly by town/server/district. A good idea is to enter a low number district and then swap into a high one, but again, that's not too reliable this year so you may well have to find a district for the right god/hat just before the event starts.

since they added 2 new gods the information on the finale was....delayed since they didnt know if this was going to have any effect on it (only a few lines the gods say changed otherwise ss, dy)....

best way to find out about the holidays is to look for the previous ones---for the most part things are just about the same (the hats change for most, and a few quests here and there are changed).......there should be a link to the holidays at the bottom of the wiki pages (or you can do a search for that holiday like: wintersday and get general information).

You get the "hat" within the first 15 mins, then the game begins. When that ends you get presents placed into your inventory over about 10 mins. The whole thing takes about a half hour.

Try to have at least 15 shards in your inventory to play the game. Every loss will result in a shard being removed from your bag; wins will result in shards being placed into your inventory. This game does increase your Lucy/Unlucky title points.

You can check a previous year's wiki page for an overview of what will happen, but the wiki doesn't put up the current year's info until it has actually happened one time. We never know when ArenaNet will change things.

it looks like the one on the bottom was what gwen was holding at the wedding....would need to get another character to that point to see if the others were there as well----but am sure of the one.

Yes that's what it says on the page about the flower bouquet. Haven't seen the 2 rose weapons/offhand thingies though.

But.....if they are only props for the wedding, why would there be an icon of them?
