Best character to get HoM points soloing

Hi all, I just started again to play this game (I just played the first campain when it released). I've an Ele/mesmer but since I don't remember any game mechanic I decided to play a new char. I'm just playing to get as many HoM points I can since I'm gonna buy for sure GW2 (and stick with it), and to see the other campains (I bought factions, nightfall and Eye of the north).

So I would like to ask you what's the best character to solo to get HoM points as fast and easy as possible (I don't have a guild or friends playing atm)? What progression do u suggest me to use (I mean where to start leveling? what and where have I to farm?)

In your opinion is it worth to start now, or it's only a waste of time?

Thank you in advice

I know people who have gone from scratch to 30/50 quite fast, they all had at least one friend though.

If you enjoy it I think its worth doing, pointless if you dont enjoy it though. You can play GW2 without the rreward from the HoM.

If speed is the most important than I expect making a rit and starting in factions will be the fastest route.

Silon, you are the master of the fast GWAMM, couldn't you have added some hints?

I thought I had seen a guide on guru to filling your HoM but I can't find it now.

yeah, I saw some sort of guide but I understood less than half of the things written on it because there are a lot of abbrevations/items/words I'm not used too. I'll eventually learn them while I play the game, I just wanted to know what class is the best for my purpose so I won't have to rerolla after a lot of hours played...

I even read that assassins and ritualists are the best classes for solo farming, but I really don't know if solo farming is the way to achieve HoM or u need something else (that's why I'm asking).

In addition a suggestion on what skills to use would be really appreciated

i suggest you dont start by just playing solo get some heros and play the game and expansions thru and you will get there well before GW2 comes out (which no one knows when that will be) i say start a ritualist (factions fastest to level) get to level 10 go to eotn (you are guffed up to level 20 stats in eotn) get some heros and just play plenty of time left. I say Ritualist cause you can SoS spirit spammer for the farming part you wanted to do. Have fun and enjoy the game

If you want my opinion: Fastest classes are probably Ritualist and Assassin, they both can play very effective PvE builds. Ritualist is a lot more boring than Assassin in my opinion though. Also, I would suggest you get Survivor immediately on your first character. Just play a bit on the safe side, maybe go to Nightfall, get a monk hero and give it some bonds to use on you if you wanna play through the campaign simultaneously. Other than that, Kilroy Stonekin farm is probably the way to go. (Fronis Irontoe's Lair)

Of course it is not needed to get Survivor but it is essentially a free title in your HoM if you play it right. Also, if you ever decide to go for GWAMM, it will save you an ENORMOUS amount of time. I wish Survivor existed when I made my GWAMM character, would've saved me massive amounts of grinding.

I gotta agree with the others though: Playing the class you like most is probably the best. I really couldn't have beared it if I had done my GWAMM on my Rit, too frickin boring. I did it on my Elementalist, a class that is considered by many to be bad in PvE (I disagree) but I liked it and I'm glad I did it on her. They get to play a lot of varieties in builds.

Just my 2 cents.

survivor is the title u get if u don't die right? u get HoM point with the first title or do u have to get the 1337k exp title? Cause it seems a little too much hardcore for me (first step seems easy).

What is GWAMM?

Ok so both assassins and ritualists are viable classes for farming, so what's the one with more survivability (to complete survival title easily)?

i would say rit who is a caster is easier to get survior based on the fact that you can drop spirits that fight for you and run away as the sin is a melee based character

in my opinion id go with rit or ranger bc although assassins can do many things(ex SC & solo dungeons) u cna get a run for most of them easily; but a ranger i think would be best bc of r/rt SoS spam and can barrage and can run dungeons as r/a.

A Monumental Tapestry goes on one of the monuments and allows you to put stuff in.

Put it wherever you want. You'll get enough for all of the monuments as you complete the EotN content. If you've got things you want to put in now, go for that monument. Otherwise it doesn't really matter.

For prestige armor use your Ele, elementalists have the best material reqs for prestige armor by FAR, for your Resilience monument.

Go with whatever you feel like playing honestly that is your best bet, its going to take some time but can be easily done. Work on all the campaigns, do some WiK when done with prophecies/eotn get some op weapons, work on nf + nf titles relatively easily with dwg spammers get some tormented weapons, work on skill capping and vq's together get some armor here and there if you are in a guild work on the dungeon statues and work on eotn. Do it at your own pace, with a class you like. My paragon had 27 max titles in 3-4 months, my ranger has 22 in 2 months but the biggest part in doing all of it was I was having fun on my toons. So biggest thing is not to worry about what class other people think is best for you instead play what you want, with hero's and the 7 hero update coming out those will be your biggest help in doing anything. Because as it is anything is able to be done with hero's. If its uw/fow/doa, you can also do that with a friend and hero's its easy peasy. Sync your titles if you must, drink booze when you're playing use drunkard master/dwarven stability, do various things. Its not hard at all to get these things done in short amount of time.

Just know that you don't need to rely on others.. everything you do is set at your own personal pace and it all can be achieved

imo assassin will be the fastest, but not the cheapest.

shadow form lets you run faster from place to place, and some dungeons/mission can be run with shadow form.

i think cheapest isnt a big deal because with an assassin, you can just complete the cheap 30/50 and leave the expensive titles alone.

or just do like 25/50, then do speed clears for money, and pay for the last 5.

Just an easy tip on Legendary Survivor for an assassin, (if you go for that on an assassin) is to Solo farm Vaettir, after you've beat eotn on a dif char. I got my assassin Legendary Survivor in about 36 runs, each run took about 3 minutes, its super fast, but YOU HAVE TO BE EXTREMELY CAREFUL. The smallest lag spike can mess everything up.
