Same here.

My Female Necro is just there to look sexy in her Vabbian Armor while standing still in the Character Selection Screen.

The armor is far too glitchy for me to even think about moving her again...

I have one character of each profession now, but my mesmer is one of the first few I had created. I had chosen mesmer due to the perceived difficulty of the class at that time (early 2006 before Factions), and she eventually became my primary character. I grew to really enjoy the different playing style.

The armor choices were never a factor, but it does help that female mesmer armor tends to look nice. My favorite is the white obsidian she has now, and after that is the purple regular Kurzick she wore for several years.

I chose more for the face/hair/animations choices than the armor, since these days the Shining Blade outfit is my fave. :/ I loooove the hair choices and colors for dervish gals.

I picked warrior because I like Melee in every game I play. But heavy plate type armors are appealing to me anyway.

That is pretty much how I picked out all 11 of my toons. Once I would want a different amour I would just make a new class. For me it was a fun way to learn all the classes and have some type of reward to it.

I made my Ele specifically for the Elite Luxon armor. I was perfectly content to let him sit on the main menu and look good, but then I learned about Vaettir farming

I deleted a female Nightfall ranger tonight and checked the female dervish faces after reading this post. Damn, you're not kidding; the female dervish faces and hair are beautiful. But in the end I created my first paragon character instead, because I wanted a character who could use spears. The paragon female characters are almost as beautiful, though I didn't use the models that have all the pinned-up hair.

Yes.

Sexy male assassin.
Sexy male paragon.
And I SOMEHOW managed to make a sexy male Necromancer (talk about impressive).
I never played any of these (don't like the professions), just got as far to buy my armor of choice.
I login to them /dance /flex /ponder /etc.

When I'm sick of playing Ritualist, I still login to watch him dance. Boy, dark black skin/tatoo male Rits are totally hot.

... now that I think about it, that's kinda silly since I've already got a very good looking very real man.... :O

I think I've had more occassions not to pick a profession because it had poor armour choice, rather than pick a profession specifically because I like it. When I build a character, though, usually I've a glimpse of the weapons and armour that go with the 'roleplay spirit' I plan for my character, so when in doubt and choosing between different professions, it is a decisive factor.

I would REALLY like to see some new choices....

I just loaded Nightfall so I have new character slots Yipeeee!

So I wanted to create something I do Not already have and started looking at the choices.

I LOVE some of the faces and hair choices with the newer packs! Wow Cool...But lets look at the Mes - LOVE the "outfit" armor look BUT I hate that all the female armor comes with HIGH HEELS - Geee do I really want my little gal running thru fields and streams in 3 inch spikes!

Or the new Paragon - Love my new Paragon! Hate that there is Not One Armor that covers her tummy!!!! And that little short skirt that shows her panties - really??

So give the Mes some GOOD Exploring shoes and some pants and top that covers my Paragon......just saying......

Made a female necro just so I could put vabbian armor on her.

And a female mesmer so I could put fow armor + chaos gauntlets, but right now I'm broke and I have no interest in start playing regularly again ¬¬

Oh I forgot to mention:
When I first started playing GW, back in the days, I really wanted to make a Mesmer as my first profession.

But they looked terrible (you know, those ugly, boring faces!), so instead, I made an elementalist, who was a bit cuter.
My Ele had a REALLY awesome mesmer skill bar, I think most Mesmers would have been ashamed by comparison...

By the time I got half way through NF, I realized I should be using ele skills.... oops...

I had the same issue with the ele's shoe choices (though they did fix some of it with vabbi--but cant quite understand the fabric hanging on the legs)

have you looked at ancient or primeval armor for your mes? (for paragon you are out of luck unless you want to spend the cash on fow top)

I have at least one character of every profession---not for the armor (though my sin did finally stop being a mule for a week to level up and get over to do the sd for ebon armor).

I am a nut for purchasing makeovers, most of my Chars now have Elonian faces and Canthan hair..regardless where they started. Also I use the Shining Blade coat adventuring..particularly in the North where high heels and cute mini skirts seem so out of place in the snow. Vabbi looks so darling on my Para but soo out of place in combat.. The other thing about the Shining Blade coat is it is awesome on Sins.. my sin looks 5 years older.. like..19.

Thanks for the heads up on the Shining Blade! I will do that as it seems a super way to - well - cover up my poor gal's tummy in the snow

I have a pve and pvp character for each profession, so choosing a profession just for the armour style has never been an issue.

My first real main character is a ritualist and I made her because of just that: their armor. I really loved the mystic voodoo look and bought factions just to play a rit. (I had only prop + eotn when i first started 2-3yrs ago)

I also made my current main charater, a monk because I felt that if I didn't play monk nobody wanted to play with me. I got so irritated nobody wanted ritualist(back then rits didn't do SoS, so for most people we where considered useless) and just made a monk. I made her tall, bald and pale because I hated all the people running around with tiny black people with blonde hair. lol.

That's what I've been using on most of my characters, especially while they're in EotN, the Shining Blade costume. My most recent character is a Paragon and I'm alternating between Istan armor for her and Shining Blade costume dyed purple.

Shining Blade dyed red works well for my female Nightfall necro and male Prophecies elementalist. Yesterday I replaced the latter's Tyrian coat with a Canthan coat -- it looks a lot better and can alternate with the Shining Blade costume.
