Do Insignias stack?
soushi8
Hey guys, I'm not sure if insignias do stack or not. Wiki doesn't say much either if the stack or not. So I guess if I bought 5 Infiltrator's Insignia and I put each inisg on each of my armor (ie: head piece, chest, gloves, pants, and boots) will the armor bonus stack?
Is it worth putting 5 insignias on ea armor or im wasting slot and money?
Thanks!

Infiltrators wont stack, the +armor is per piece.
70AR + 10AR(vs physical) +10AR(vs piercing dmg).
Essentially, You have 80AR per piece when against phiscal dmg. Not sure what things deal piecing dmg.

Insignia with armor bonuses do not stack, but apply to the piece you use them on. If you put an Infiltrator's Insignia on your chest, you only have the extra armor if hit in the chest. If you put them on all pieces, you have armor +10 against physical and armor +10 against piercing no matter where you're hit.
The wiki page you linked tells you that the bonus is not global (= does not stack). The only insignia that stack are Survivor and Radiant, which have a global effect on health/energy.

basically each piece of armor has a different chance to be hit. So if you have 4 pieces of 80 armor and 1 piece of 60 armor (warrior with 4x sentinels and 1x stonefist) if you get hit in the 60 armor you will take more damage then if you get hit in the 80 armor. It's merely a 1d8 roll.

There are also skills that give piercing damage.

Each armor piece has a chance of being hit: chest 3/8, legs 2/8, head, arms and feet each 1/8.
If you put an Infiltrator's Insignia on the chest only and non-armor insignia on others (such as survivor/radiant, you only get the armor bonus if you get hit on the chest.
So if you get hit with piercing damage, you have a 3/8 chance of having 90 armor against that hit and a 5/8 chance of having 70 armor.

insignias usually don't stack with each other
survivor and radiant are the only insignias that stack
survivor and radiant are the only insignias that stack

I think the most non-intuitive piece of the puzzle is that when you get hit by something, you get hit on one of the 5 "locations" of your body...
...but there's no on-screen or in-game involvement in the "location" thing. The only effect that the damage's location has is in the math the computer does before it shows you the damage number.
Like, if positioning and body locations were more of a part of the game... like "i'm going to target the enemy's chest" like in Fallout maybe... then it would make more sense to have each hit land in different locations and have individual armor bonuses for each. Even something as simple as seeing "head shot" or "body shot" when you get hit. Or if you get crippled if you take a big shot to the legs, or dazed if you take a big blow to the head... something other than "what insignia do you have on that slot?" ya know?
Body locations for target damage seems half-done, somehow.

so if i got these explanations right (thnx btw) it is more imperative to put infiltrator inisg on the chest cuz it has d most chances of being hit. huh... thnx.

It means that if you want a consistent armor bonus you should put them on all 5 pieces. But yeah, you could put it only on the chest if you want for a 3/8 chance of that extra protection.
