I used to think these were rare, but it seems they are only uncommon. Within a few days of buying UNID golds (maybe 2000-2500 of them), I have gotten these:

q9 Tactics Shield +10 vs undead -3 while hexed

q12? Skeleton Shield +10 vs earth -3 while hexed

q12? Buckler -3 while hexed +1 Str (20% chance)

What dual mod shields have you gotten? I am interested.

I am referring specifically to shields with two of the following: +armor, damage reduction, or +1 attribute modifiers. Not shields that have two mods.

I have a q9 Str. Celestial Shield -5 (19%) +10 vs. Slashing. The ones I really like are +10 vs. Dwarves etc. The dual modded ones are nice if you get the right mix though.

I get the ones that don't make any sense.

Q10 Strength
+10 armor vs Deamons
+1 Divine Favor 20%

I can't think of a more useless combination, maybe if it was tactics....

r9 dual inherent with both perfect mods that are useful is what is rare, not dual random mods which may or may not be max on a r10+ shield

Love my dual mods, but they take up a lot of room in storage lol.

I dont get why u can get -2/-2 shields but not +45^Enchant/+30 ones lol.

I got a +10 vs earth -2 enchanted R12 tactics skeleton shield, but the highest bid was about 2 or 3K so I just kept it (good for stone striker+ stoneflesh).

People say -2/-2 doesn't drop anymore.

Stuff that isn't low req (6, 7 or 8 tac or command or motivation) can still be used for +8 armor. For a UA that might come in handy to get 17 DF in DoA (+10 vs demons) or for an extra +3.2HP every 5 spells or so. I'd rather have +30HP or -2enchanted since you get +100 armor from "Save Yourselves!".

While those are nice shields they are not what is concidered "dual" modded. Those are just normal mods.

Indeed, this is very useful on a DoA monk, although seed makes a team invincible for 6 seconds already, the extra couple hp's are just fool coolness :P

I bought a +10vsDemon -2^ench Outcast, and it's my own precious, although everyone keeps saying the skin sucks balls... The skin is f*cking awesome, that's what it is!

And, -2/-2 shields and -2/-3 shields could drop, because -2^stance used to be a different class than -2^ench and -3^hexed, that's why all -2/-2 and -2/-3 shields have a -2^stance on them; combined with either ench or hex...

+30/+45 wasn't possible, because they use the same slot in a drop calculator, so they can't both appear on one.

I also once got a -2^stance +10vsUndead Eternal shield, req9 I think, sold for some 50k^^

+1/20 inscriptions on shields are ONLY possible to be strength, tactics, motivation or command, because that's what "Master of my Domain" does.
Caster attribute +1/20 are only possible on uniscr shields, because mod tables are different there, that's also why you can get +10vsSpecies or +10vsDamage mods combined with -2^ench or -2^stance etc, which makes some uninscr shields very powerful. Never compare the inscribable shields with the uninscr, because it's like comparing apples and bananas, yeah, they're both fruit, but they're still totally different.

In the outmoded system all properties in shields and foci are always inherent. You can't salvage them nor upgrade them with shield handles or inscriptions.
In the standard system, shield handles ALWAYS give health, that health may be conditional, but it's always a health property. Any other property goes only in the inscription.

So it seems 'dual modded' means having two mods and none of them giving health.

That's an aberration to my eyes.
The shield handles and inscriptions may be limited, but we can't have people getting items with properties that can't be replicated with the PvP item creation panel. That defeats its purpose.
Either they increase the options in the PvP item creation panel to be able to make those, or they fix the drop system so those no longer drop and update the outmoded drops to the standard.

I got a Blue 15 AC shield with Tactics 6 req, +10 vs slashing and an open slot? that any good? I was gonna put a +30hp piece into it? give it to my Monk/Warrior since I have just 6 points to waste in something. I see a lot of monks in pvp using shields.. what are those stats?

Theyre Not rly uncommon. From thousands of shields ive had from tyria/cantha. if it isnt single mod its usually someting like that..

Practically an inherent shield with 2 inherent mods where one of them is a +Health mod is also a Dual-inherent shield.

And they aren't even any rare - about 1/3 of all gold shields dropping in Tyria or Cantha will have 2 mods.

I don't think there's a special name for shields that have a mod combination that's not possible to be reproduced on inscribable shields - that is shields:
with a +Armor vs Mob Species
and/or
with a +1 caster attribute mod
and/or
with 2 mods where neither of them is a +health mod

Anyway, variety is cool and I'm a great fan of the inherent shields (as opposed to all the awful inscribables).

Is there an inscription for a shield that is +15 w/stance? or +10 w/stance? If so what is the "name" of it? I never can remember what these names represent in stats. Is there a place where I can see ALL the inscriptions andtheir NAMES? So I can try to buy one in the bazaar?

There's no such inscription nor inherent mod for a shield. You can see practically all the inscriptions at Tolkano npc (Great Temple or your GH), or a complete list at: http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Inscription

For as long as I can remember when people speak of a "dual" mod shield or "dual Inherent" mod shield they are speaking of a shield with 2 "inscription" type mods.

This doesn't mean that it is possible for a shield to have any combination of "inscription" mods on it. I have yet to hear of a shield with +10 vs Element and +10 vs Species.

As was stated in another post most of the dual mod shields have either -2 stance + another inscription or they have +1 attribute with any random attribute other then Tactics or Strength(choosen from the caster attributes so no chance of +1 sword/axe/hammer/ext)
