How to Solo FoW?

See record is 54min for solo hm fow. Just wondering how you can solo FoW, let alone in such a short time.

What order do you do quests in? And how do you clear mobs like in tower, must take forever with just sliver+ vipers. And mainly, how do you do griffon quest solo?

griffins is easy to solo, as long as you don't come in aggro range of the griffs then they won't follow you, so you can just kill everything on the path then come back and lead them to rastigan.

Wasn't the 54min pre sliver-nerf?

No pre -sliver nerf record was like 1hr 10min

on solo FoW you waste A LOT cons and sweets and time ...

Griffon solo is pretty easy, anf forge with monks and mesmer with good spawns too with bad it just takes longer.

In 54 min run (which was a 52 min run, just took the screen to late PrO) i did the Quests in this order.

Rasti - Camp - Menzie - Forge - Hunte - ToS - Seeds - Khobay - Slaves of Menzie - Forest - Griffons

How do you do Rasti? I tried it a lot of times but i never get it done....i ran straight to the left cleared of all enemies around Rastis tower, went beck to get him he started running and died...i tried to pull all enemies away but they got him. The other quests seemed to be no problem but Rastigan is tricky.

Popping a summon methinks?

EDIT: nvmnd, looked at screenshot and his summon was popped near the end..

You just kill the group in his way before the groups at the tower lol

you dont need to kill groups between rasti and the tower just take first aggro of them an lose agro of them when you run to tower ( viper ftw) = gg 4 min quest

kolpster, I'm more that interested to learn to do Solo Fow too, but I don't think that asking on this part of the forum will get you (or me) any help...
Rasti is one of the quest that bugs me too! Forge is tricky, tried several times and could clear it only one time Same with those damn sheperds for griffs...

Hmm, if you only want to finish and dont want to speed:
Rasti: Kill the War + Beast + 4 Casters in the beginn (right side), they dont have a monk so easy to kill.
Then go Toc clear it, but u lure the last ranger near to the double-monk-group there u kill it.
Then u aggro the double monk group and just tank it ti the side -> rasti passes...

this got me interested in trying to solo FoW. Only problem for me is clearing normal mobs like those in tower. Just takes a while with only Ebon + Sliver especailly when they die down to only 3-4 left. I guess this is why cons help a lot.

What is summoning stone used for?

The only part of solo fow i cant do is Defend the temple Ive duo'd it but can't work out the solo x.x

I guess you can pull the south pops in the mobs just outisde the forge. They kill them, just very slow and that is what you want. Not sure it works but it should.

How do you kill groups with 2monks +2mesmers in the forge ?

And what about the first shadow group for the griffs ? there are the only things i don't know how to do :/

If you have a good spawn you can skip the shadow group.
If not you can waste time and kill it with the undead groups as aggro.
And the third possibility is to use a ghastly stone while running through.

Thanks for your answers but i have a few more questions.


Do you use ranger's aggro to kill monks ? 2 are enough or you manage tu pull more of them ?

And what is the "safest" build to do it ? The build used during the record is probably the fastest but it is doable with another build ? HoS instead of viper's defense maybe ? I just want to be able to finish fow solo, not even thinking about beating record or anything.

Particular armor needed ? I guess piercing for ToS. Slashing against shadow groups ?
