So, now what?
Tyestor
Hi guys. So I just got my first level 20 (A/ME) and I am wondering what do I do now? What's the first few things I should do once I hit 20. I have all campaigns and EotN. I don't have much money (left), like 1 plat and 500 gold. I'm just a little overwhelmed here. I used to play WoW and thought "2 85s and numerous 70+ toons in WoW, do a lot of raiding know how MMOs work, guild wars should be EZPZ." How wrong was I, GW is completely different. Don't even know what to do, what builds to use where to go next or anything. Any tips? Thanks and sorry for being a noob.

Finish all campaings. Get max armor if u dont have, Some good builds and decent weapons if u dont have, After uve finished all campaings u can start doing side quests or titles or dungeons what so ever farming, or just make new character to play with :9
Pvx wiki site helps u with builds alot, and normal wiki for quests & missions and dungeons etc
Also Get some good guild so u'll have ppl play with, helps alot and u can get nice tips & builds there
Hope it helped

Do you have any suggestions on which A/Me build I should use to finish all the missions and such? I tried doing some of the EotN quests (for Against the Destroyers) but I find that I get killed in like two hits by any of the mobs I need to kill for the quests. My current goal is to finish all the campaigns, before I posted, but that takes a lot of time and I don't want to do it non stop. What are some good productive things to do in between?

If it's not already done, go to Kaineng Center, and craft a max armor (70AL). From there, take the quest Sunspears in Cantha to have access to Kamadan Jewel of Istan. Another quest is usefull here : Capturing Orrian Tome but you can come back take it later if desired.
When you are in Kamadan, take the quest Battle Preparation and Hole of Istan. Follow this quest until you have Against the Destroyer
You should now have some heroes and can begin Eye of the North quests to get as many PvE skills as possible. They will be very helpfull to roll over ohter campaign.
This is probably the easyest way to begin, but you can also simply follow the main story in Cantha, or go to Lion's Arch from Kaineng center to start with the first campaign (chronologically)
Hope this can help you....
Edit: i'm typing too slow....

Anyone have anymore tips or anything I can do? I need to make like 6 plat so I can get max Seitung.

Max armor should be your first priority, but for now try using tanking skills, such as Shadow Form (available early in Cantha) or some build to avoid contact such this one.
Use it with any staff for energy or scepter and shield for more armor.
Edit : A very good repeatable quest to make some plats for beginners : http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Kilro...t_Extravaganza!

Well, best tip I can give for someone from your experience to make 6k would be: play the game, and pick up EVERYTHING that drops, identify it, and sell it to the merchant. If you identify an item, the merch value will usually go from like 30-40g to up to 60-100g, so an identification kit is an investment well spent in my experience. Also, once you gather like 20k, you should be on the lookout for good farming locations/options. As assassin, there are an incredible amount of places where you can farm, and an elite skill that should be able to help you out is Flashing Blades, and that one can be captured early on in the Kaineng City area somewhere.
You will need some backup money to invest in a new armor set to farm, and the right equipment, but eventually, it should pay itself back. http://www.gwpvx.com/PvX_wiki should help you out on all sorts of farming locations.
Also, something for survivability in this game. You have no idea how important armor is. I have different armor sets and shield sets for just about everything I do. Especially for example chest running with my ssin, or for certain builds etc, just because those sets are optimal in the place I will need them.
Once you have finished all campaigns (with a max armor set ) you can try to enjoy the endgame content from GW, which is kind of one of the only things that still thrives here.. And, of course, the endgame is where the big money is, as usual
Hope that helped you out.

What is end game like in GW? How do you make money with end game in GW? I know in WoW you can sell the BoE epic drops on the AH for thousands of gold, sell orbs that drop from bosses etc...Lol, I really have no idea. Any good farming spots you would recommend? For someone who has AR25 armour and Kaineng City Sai? I'm currently up the the Naphui Quarter mission (the one with the oracle) so I'm a long way from finishing all the campaigns. Also what's the Luxon and Kurzick factions? People always talk about them but I don't know what they are.

Luxon and Kurzicks are factions you encounter later in cantha. You can choose your side and obtain powerfull PvE skills, but again, you should first do Eye of the North. Quests there gives you many plats. As i said, take a look at http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Kilro...t_Extravaganza!
By doing this quest a few times you should have enough for your armor
Edit: Everything you drop should be identified and sell to the marchand, except for materials (iron, dust...), lockpicks, dye, skill tomes...
Anshuri
Anyother way to get your armor a bit cheaper is to salvage the materials yourself. Whenever you get some item that you think might give you the material you need for your armor (you can look that up on wiki), salvage it and keep the materials in your material storage for later. Its gonna give you a bit less money than selling them, but you dont have to buy the materials = its gonna save you money.

Yeah the looks might not be what your looking for. But, your at a point where ya shouldn't be picky. This. should cost significantly less.

A few things I feel the need to point out:
* Ignore Eye of the North content for now. It's an expansion to wrap up the three main games.
* Quest a bit around Shing Jea again, you'll find stuff you missed. A lot of these quests give Monastery Credits, turn these in for scrolls in the monastery and sell them to a merchant for 100g. That will add up and help you towards your armor. Similarly, there's a few quests around Kaineng that offer Imperial Commendations, 5 of these gets you a sup salvage kit that you can then merch for 1k.
* As someone else pointed out, ignore the armor that wants steel for now. Look at the other options. Go for function right now, worry about looks later.
* I'd recommend not going any further in Factions until you can get your max armor. Feel free to plod around Tyria though (via Lion's Arch) as that area is geared towards level 12~ ish. You'll find that you can slice through mobs easy enough and can gain the cash needed for your armor.
* Don't worry too much about builds right now, you'll find you're spending your gold on skills and stuff that would be better suited to getting you into max armor. Providing you're doing some damage (lead attack, offhand attack, dual attack) and can get out of a fight, chance are you're fine.
* Pick up everything and take it straight to the merchant. Identify it and sell sell sell. There's a very very very very slim chance of getting a drop worth anything where you are. I wouldn't worry about it. Similarly, if you get any armor-drops with runes on, pull those off with an expert salvage kit and sell them to the trader. You'll find yourself with enough cash to get the basic armor, and rune it up, to meet your needs.
Once you have your max armor and stuff *then* you can worry about dealing with the extra things. And you can move through the Factions campaign without blowing up every 2 seconds \o/

Basically you have to kill some mobs to get the items needed, which you then trade for armor. A full armor set would require 10 Venerable Mantid Pincers, 5 Jade Bracelets, 5 Putrid Cysts, and 5 Plague Idols. You can find theese items on mobs in Bukdek Byway, and Wajjun Bazaar, zones very close to Kaineng City.

What should I go do after I finish all the campaigns and get max armour?
frodoofpool
Can I suggest one last thing.
Join an active Guild, the game really came together for me once I started regularly playing with a few people. Great for discussing builds and getting help with missions etc. Then when you do start getting near end game you and your Guild can look at speedclears, dungeons etc etc.

Also, a good place for you to make money is outside seitung harbor. Go in NM and kill the sensali guys there, use a dagger build, I'd suggest something along the line of this:
http://www.gwpvx.com/Build:A/Mo_Flashing_Blades_Farmer
You can change your secondary profession later on in the game.
These sensali drop feathers, and if you complete a run you should get ~70-90 feathers (make sure to salvage their Feathered crests and scalps for more feathers) per run which should take ~10minutes. 250 feathers = 10-11k, so that's pretty easy money..
aelesia
Or you could start doing Prophecies quest first since people don't get max armor in that campaign until much, much later on. I had 40 plat on both of my Prophecies characters combained and neither of them were level 20 yet.
Bristlebane
Agree, kill birds in Jaya Bluffs and collect feathers. You should easily be able to get 11k for 250 feathers.

Ok, kill sensali for feathers. Gotchya. One question that I have about buying and selling is: where do I sell stuff? In WoW (sorry for uttering the forbidden acronym) there's a thing called the Auction House. It allows plaeyrs to put up auctions for other players to buy. Is there anything like this in GW or do I just have to advertise in trade?
I have a level 13 elementalist in Prophecies but I find that it's a massive grind to get levels. When I started this toon, I was level 13 within 3 hours. I have 30+ hours on my ele yet I'm only level 13. I like the prophecies story but it just takes way too long to level.

Usually people sell their stuff in Kamadan, Jewel of Istan or Lion's Arch (not Kaineng Center, that died when NF came out). But selling your feathers should be easy in Seitung Harbor too. I know a couple of people that go there to buy the feathers straight of the farmers If you want to sell stuff, you have to go to american districts btw^^
For the endgame, GW endgame exists out of multiple elite missions or areas. The Underworld, The Fissure of Woe, The Deep, Urgoz Warren and Domain of Anguish. All of which can be easily farmed with the right team build (whereas, when I started playing GW, clearing UW took 2h+ ), but they are pretty tough to learn, especially if you're new to the game.
UW, FoW and DoA are the most commonly played endgame areas, Urgoz and Deep are still done by a very select number of guilds. There are all sorts of ways to clear the areas, and all yield different rewards, worth quite a bit, sometimes. The easiest way to get in contact with a certain endgame is Glaiveway in DoA (although I despise it with every fiber in my body) but it's the easiest way for inexperienced people to do it, and it's gonna be very profitable compared to your standards.

I you didnt receive your free Tournament Reward points yet, talk to High Priest Zhang in the Great Temple of Balthazar to get 50 Tournament Reward Points, then talk to Tolkano (also in GToB) & exchange the points for Zaishen Keys. You will need to register your account with Tolkano first I believe. You can then sell the keys for 5.5 - 6k each.

If you're looking forward for GW2, do the HoM-related stuff. That's endgame stuff right there, and your efforts carry over into GW2 as rewards.
Also do Nahpui Quarters so you can have the option to change 2nd prof on the fly.

And, the max damage for daggers is 7-17, the only difference you might wanna look for are the mods on your dagger.
And, upgrade hero armor, you can use runes and insignias on it just like on your own armor, go in your inventory screen and move to one of the heroes in your party and you can rune them

To upgrade hero armour you'll need to add the hero to your party, acquire a rune that is compatible with their profession and then apply it to their armour in the same way you would you own. In order to view the hero's armour you need to click the little thumbnail of them at the top of your inventory.
