Do we still really have to know who wins in there? We no longer have the gods blessing different regions, so what's the point in the system messaging us? Can't those who care about that just watch the latest video?

Its pretty easy to ignore that.
Then for me, I could really careless who maxed what title or got gwamm.
But not much i can do on that one.
Suppose we both have to deal with it.

I don't care about PvP and the: ".... won the hall of heroes". It would be nice if there was a option to not see it. The announcements in towns who won titles is better then the always HA message.

Lol, srsly, people care this much? REMEMBER PEOPLE: We have currently 2 developers (I think) working on the entirity of guild wars 1. If you REALLY want them to spend their time removing this, which would require changing codes, testing it, planning a date to update, implementing the update, fixing the bugs etc..... then GO OUTSIDE AND REMEMBER THERE IS A REAL WORLD. Personally I would rather they would spend their time on.... new content? doing the planned updates that they keep talking about? more frequent skill balancing... I dunno, but this pretty much falls at the bottom of the pile.
Suggesting this for the game is all well and good. But it's important to prioritise what you want from the game. I bet your excited about embark, 7 heroes, derv skill updates, Winds of change etc.... If your suggestion is more important in your opinion than these, then FINE suggest it. If you wouldnt want those changes postponed for your suggestion... then maybe refrain from having a whinge?

I don't care about who won HoH, and I don't care that a message about it appears every once in a while. It's white noise and easily ignored.

i agree with the OP. when it used to say that, "team x needs 2 more wins to earn favor" it made sense that it let us know. now? not so much. also, i get tired of seeing really vulgar guild names in chat with ZERO way to turn it off. axe it.

You don't need that message in order to know you can go in UW/FoW.
You can easily buy scrolls which defeats the purpose of having those favor...
Meanwhile for HA'ers, it actually helps, you can see who is winning, and get yourself ready for buildwars with them to kick them out of halls.
The best option I could see if, just being able to turn events off, just like Trade/Ally/Guild Chat, have one check box stuff under the Options Menu (F9) that could say, " PvE Events Notification" and another saying "PvP Events Notification"
But chances of such actions being taken by the 2 developers are slim to none because this is not a issue..
Its 1 line that pops every 12 minutes during active hours. So I'm pretty sure you can endure that massive amount of spam. Unlike when you get someone trying to be cool and bomb status with 3-4 titles getting maxed... and that is annoying specially when you are having a conversation. Just takes space of the limited space we already have.

None of the broadcast messages are really needed, expecially since you automatically get to know how many minutes of favor are left, or how many accomplishments are needed to receive favor, as soon as you enter one of the outposts that provide access to UW/FoW.

For the second, sadly, the message is a part of the system message, they'd have to reprogram the message to another channel, but that would be nice.
I'd love to see the message, along with the title maxing put on a removable channel...well, I'd love for the whole chat system to get upgraded really, but at this point in GW's life, I doubt that will ever happen.
It's a shame to see so many posts in here that could be deleted.

lol, why would you want to get rid of the HoH winner status update. it Gives the guilds/chars reputation. if i see a decent guild holding halls a lot i am more likely to want to run with them than a guild who all bought thier r12 accounts lol.

Concluding, while it has absolutely no added-value besides having funny names, there is no reason for removing it. As for keeping it: funny names are funny.
