Press and hold A/E (one of them) and then hit escape, you will then start to move slowly to right/left (on the spot).
this has helped me not to get dc'd when i need to i.e DL..

What do you meen by afk? Are you minimalising game and doing something on computer, or maybe you go somewhere and computer is left alone? In 1st case it shouldn't DC you unless there are problems with overcrowded districts. In 2nd case it can be casued by your powerplan which turning off your ethernet/wireless adapted after XX minutes of inactivity.

Same problem here. I think GW has some sort of auto-dc if you're afk for more than a few hours. I'm not sure though.

You need to train a budge to pick keys for you..
or you can stick a piece of paper under the "turn left" key so you keep spinning,
other than that I have no idea

Actually I'm leaving GW on when i go to work (for aronud ~14 hours) and i never got DC. Firstly, when you want to go afk on rings get district with not so large ammount of people. Secondly, change settings like they writteing here:
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/w...sked-questions
in section "How can I prevent my computer from automatically sleeping or hibernating?" (just set Never in time to sleep/hibernate).
If it don't work, DC would be caused by GW servers or your internet connection/router.
Edit: Btw it's known that GW have auto-dc after some time... but this time is 24 hours.

As above, plus there's always the slim possibility that your ISP is dropping you - especially if you go through a school or business network.

I always have this problem during the canthan festivals for some reason but never during any other events. I consistently get 007 at least once an hour. Very annoying when I am AFKing 9 rings. Happens when I play also so not just when I am AFK.
I have found it usually gets better for me as the event goes on. North American servers are worse so I usually go to international and it is better but still get DC'ed.

Heard of it happening but i've afked >20 hours so far and haven't DC'd. I'm from the UK playing on US districts. Some of it might have been the new build that occurred in the first day DCing afkers?

Could it be your computer going into standby mode.
I can leave mine on all night no problem, but someone I know puts his machine in standby and his modem switches off.
We are both with the same isp
