Which District to play in?
Jayze
Hi there - newbie here - in the top left of my screen i have a box with areas in it like - Europe English Active District and International District - which is the best area to play in?

It doesn't matter--International is usually for hanging out with your friends/guild members who cannot get to the Europe district, because they may live in another country.
International is also far more empty and quiet--which is both good and bad. I don't usually like all the crowds and immaturity in some areas, so I usually go international and solo. However, too much of that can get dull, so I switch to my native district often as well for trading, grouping, etc.

If you want people-pick the American English districts
If not(for most pve towns) go to most any other districts
For what some find to be less laggy-Choose an out of the way one, like Polish or Korean

Anyone can get to any district, regardless of where they live.
Lag, contrary to popular belief, is not dependent on district. All the districts are hosted on the same servers, and you have to go through the same internet connections to get there. It's all a placebo effect.

It also depends where u live, how good yer connection is to every district.
I live in west europe and my connection is better in say Euro English then in Euro Polish or American.
For trading with other players go to American districts, its weird perhaps, but thats where nearly all trading happens.
@A11Eur0: uhm, have to disagree on that.

Popular belief is actually right and you are wrong. 206 servers are located in europe and 64 are located in america so yeah, lag actually is district dependant.

International district is good when you do not want to have to read stupid or immature comments in local chat but the American district is good if you are looking for some sort of trade, whether buying or selling. Sometimes, to get the whole place to myself, I dont mind going even to the Korean district or the Chinese one.

Actually, the International Districts were first implemented back when you couldn't freely switch between America/Euro/Asia districts. Nowadays they are redundant.
What district to play in is a matter of choice. If you are not concerned with playing with other people, then find the district that gives you the best, steadiest ping. If you want to find PuGs, you may need to use the America districts as they seem to be most active.
@syronj ^^ - the districts are created dynamically as needed. Each district is set to only hold "x" number of players. When the number of players gets close to "x" a new district is created, and when the number goes down, the districts are shut down.

International is the best. It picks the server based off all the players. American is the best for getting groups unless you speak German fluently.

As for the OP's question, it really depends on what you want. Do you speak a particular language, do you want to find others to play with or trade with or do you just want to be able to zone to places as quickly as you can? As noted above, it can be a different answer for each question.

Just my 2 pennies worth, I always play in US Districts because there is always much more people (I'm UK). Lot of Guilds when doing quests like the Deep, FoW etc. will move to less populated districts like Russian or Outer Mongolian to cut down on the lag factor, tbh though if I lag in one district I usually lag in all
