How Do You Farm?
Kagome
Ever since I started Guild Wars, I've always had trouble making money. I don't know how some of my guild members do it.

1) gwpvx
2) pick your Profession for farming
3) ???
4) profit
but seriously do/learn high end stuff. *Hint* it will not happen over night.

always a good idea is to ask other people how they make thier money and if they can teach you.
for me i started of by watching some videos on youtube and doing UW and FoW runs with random people in ToA which then pushed me into more Highend farming areas. now thats pretty much all i do with my guild. we are all pretty well off.

Pretty much what Killerbot said, I would recommend starting out spirit spamming UW or Join in on FoWsc's as 100B or MOP. those are some decent ways of making money.

I dont recommend SCs. It seems like there are a lot of elitists and jerks, especially if you're new to them.
I got dirty rich off of ToPK farming. If you have an assassin or a mesmer, its really easy to learn and its good for making money. Admittably, it is boring... but then again most farms are.

DOA Glaiveway is mindnumbingly easy, although it's a little slow. Still decent cash for the casual player, and it's kinda fun. If you have the patience to farm your own mats for consets, you can make even more money.
For best results, learn the Imba, UA, or HB bars, and you shouldn't have any problems finding a PUG.
Once you learn DOA Glaiveway, it might even be worth it to look into some of the DOASC builds. I haven't myself, but am wanting to learn.

Other than that, there are the weekly gifts from Nicholas which sell on average for 4-5k and the Zaishen Challenge which will net you a Zaishen Key every day (that's 6k each atm).
Feather farming is also an easy way for the casual player to make money. A stack of feathers nowadays is 10k, and a run in Jaya Bluffs takes 8-15min and rewards you with 60-70 feathers. If you also farm Piles of Dust, you can craft them along with the feathers into Essences of Celerity which sell very fast in ToA (I don't know the prices of them anymore... 4k or so?).
You can also solo farm UW and FoW for ectos and shards, but personally I've never been very lucky there

To hard to go into detail, best suggestions people advise is goto pvx and check some of the farming build. Of course youtube will have videos doing farming as well. Power trading is a good way. ID everything you get dropped and merch it.
I never used to pickup everything, but most recently I made a new toon, and I did pickup everything, and guess what, I got upto 10k in a day. Factions is a good way of making money, and feather farming is your best bet and easiest to do.
Gifts from the traveler is a good way to make money, people pay for that as well.
RiT/ is a good farming class, with SOS can solo parts of UW for ectos.
Just some tips, and search on here, people have posts on here with alot of ways to make money.

Ack! I've actually been in a friend's guild ever since I started, and even though we're inactive I want to maintain my position as an original member. :P
Is it possible if I add you as a friend instead?

Usually, it is not necessary to farm if you don't throw the money out of the window and take every opportunity to save money. There are many mechanics in the game that let you efficiently save money in the first place. Consult this thread from the stickies in this forum and the live thread mentioned there.

For the longest time I was collecting the gifts, both in pre-sear and post, and selling most of the items (alcohol, honey, etc). Now I'm using them for titles so am hanging onto them. But I'd make 100k at a time selling those things at auction.
I have multiple accounts, most of which are Prophecies-only, and farm the zaishen challenge 4 accounts at a time (3 leeching off the trapper) which takes 15 minutes per day. The faction gained buys keys which generates a steady enough income that I don't have to bother with boring farming of mobs.
Plus I'm still playing through the game, doing WiK bounties, and doing z-missions, which all generates gold. For example, a couple of weekends ago I took a toon from Senji's Corner all the way through the rest of Factions and earned over 28k including the Shiro book plus a couple of saved up z-missions.

Getting the weekly gifts of the traveler is a cheap/easy way to make some dough. Of course, I just recently started Spirit farming UW. Since it was my first time on my own, I even took a couple heroes (which steal drops). Still, it cost me 1k entry, I spent a few hours running around killing things, netted one passage scroll to the underworld (my money back, essentially) plus a few k in cash drops, a bunch of crap white/blue/purple drops (merched for another k or two), a couple gold drops (merched), and one glob of ecto. So in a few hours I netted almost 20k. Not great, but like I said, I just started so I'm still learning how to speed it up and farm it better, not to mention my heroes stole some drops and I had to share the gold with them.
Next up is truly solo farming UW. I just don't want to get killed and kicked before I make my 1k entry fee back. That would be annoying.

You could still bring a Hero along, with a hard res and survival skills. Flag him far enough away (grayed out party member) to where he's not in your range and all the drops will be yours. He would only be there in case you die so he can res you and you won't get kicked out of UW.

I farm Glint's. I get about 55k per hour on average. Each run takes about 22 minutes and can be done soloed with H/H.
