Wow! How did you do those? They look amazing!

Keep them up please!

Are the Deep and Urgoz also possible?

I prefer to have "clean" files, annotations can be added by people using the maps to write guides etc. on them. Nothing is worse than the only copy of the map having text saying "Reaper of the Ice Wastes" in the way of where you want to draw.

I think Deep and Urgoz should be possible yes, however I don't think me and Agony go to them often enough to make a map like this. We make them by taking screenshots using the Argos Soft cam tool and then piecing them all together in photoshop and drawing in/correcting manually.

Now I have finally finished the mapping of the entire UW! You may notice that messed up a bit in the passages between Vale to Chamber and Chamber to Wastes.

I am using the Argos Cam like you said and when I take pictures, I can't seem to get them lined up.

1) How far are you zooming out? Seems like all the way

2) How many pictures do you have to take to piece them together nicely?

I have been trying but I don't really understand.

1) Yes it is zoomed out all the way - you could use any zoom level but the further out it is the less pictures you need to take
2) You need to take 100s of pictures, and piece them together in photoshop by erasing parts and distorting the edges such that they look like they could be 1 image.

Absolutelly EPIC! It's really cool, thanks!
Is it available in TexMod*?

*Is it legal? Third-party programs/bots are forbidden, but wiki says "By using this program you acknowledge that you cannot hold ANYONE responsible for what happens to your game or account."

It could probably be made to replace the U map with a texmod package, but I can't be bothered to do this. Feel free to do it yourself if you want.

I haven't been banned so I guess its allowed/not detected.

That's pity, why would do it without putting it in game?
I've tried to do it, but haven't found all map pieces. I hope someone else will.

We made it for drawing tactics on not for an in-game thing.

This is excellent indeed. I too am wondering how to put this in gane, via Texmod no doubt. There is a way, as there are Texmods which put ingame mission maps onto yours, with all the directions and boss locations and so on, so the map can be changed.

For the UW map, I used 144 screenshots with maximum outzoom and then put them together in Photoshop CS5 Extended. UW is a bit different from the other areas because it has a layer of clouds which them others don't. Thats why the other areas are so much clearer and nicer than UW.

I used Texmod to remove the clouds in Ascalon area. I imagine you can do the same for UW.

The Argos software has an inbuilt function that removes clouds and fogs, but thank you for the tip! If I feel urged to go down there and get another 144 screens I will try it.

It doesn't remove certain clouds. I used the fog removal in Argos and it didn't remove the clouds in...Ascalon City for example. I had to manually make a TPF in Texmod to remove them. That is what you'll have to do for UW.

These images are awesome looking! Unless someone has taken it upon themselves already, I'd be glad to give it a shot and implement these in-game. I just finished updating theIn-Game Mission Maps, and am working on a Login Screen changer, but I could probably give this a shot. The only issue might be whether they line up, how well they do, and how the images look at that close of a range. Impulsion, do you happen to have any higher-res images? the bigger the better, otherwise things might get stretched.

EDIT: Hmm, they don't seem to be the right scale. No matter what I try, I can't get them lined up 100%, at least not the DoA one. If anyone with better photoshop skills wants to contort it to fit, try to get Impulsion's image to match up with This. If someone can do that I'll break it down into Texmod files.

It won't line up with the u map just by resizing the whole thing. You need to stretch different parts of the image by different amounts. The images we create are made up from 100s of screeshots - none of which actually fit together properly - but have been reshaped and resized to give the appearance of being smooth.

In short, these images are not correctly proportioned, and fixing that to any degree of accuracy would be very difficult.

Yeah, I was afraid of that when I started, but figured I'd try. Sadly, I don't have the patience to sit there and do that by hand. I can't imagine creating the image itself >.<
