How does the banning thing work? Is it on a point thing?
e.g
Scamming=10 points
Leeching=5 etc.
Or is it how many times you have been reported thanks!

Are you planning on doing these things and wondering how many times you can do it before your "points" run out?
I only ask this because the emoticon you used seems to imply that the question has ramifications that you aren't telling us.

Heh, I think it's more a case of he's someone who thinks "OMG THAT SMILEY LOOKS COOL!" and doesn't think about how it'll look to others :P
Having said that, I've no idea how it works. I would imagine that if you clock up enough reports, steps are taken. Would also depend on what you were reported for. Not much is usually disclosed about a ban system for the reason stated above: so people don't try to see how far they can get before being banned.
Simple advice: don't do that stuff and you won't get banned. If you want to do it, don't play the game. Go troll Runescape instead.

There does not seem to be a fixed set of criteria. So, you could get permanently banned on first offence.

okay to rephrase I have been banned for 335 but I was reported wrongly.
I will admit I went AFK in a Kath run. I was then reported for Scamming? I was wondering if this had more of an effect on my ban than a Leeching would be?

The "leeching" comes under the Dishonorable system and is punished separately, although it also might give your account "marks" http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Dishonorable
The other "reports" for scamming, language, etc, when verified, give your account "marks" but how many and the duration is unknown. When you receive enough "marks" you receive a ban. I imagine it is similar to guru's system where the more "marks" you accumulate, the longer your ban.
